PENTAGON
Today, on Monday, June 12, 2017, PENTAGON presented their new song <Critical Beauty> (예뻐 죽겠네) at the showcase for their 3rd mini-album <Ceremony>, in the Shinhan Card FAN Square Live Hall.
With a powerful title track, in a retro style, mixing Rock’n’roll and Hip-Hop sounds, the band also knew how to perform a precise and on point dance, as usual.
One of the characteristic of the song <Critical Beauty> is the fact that it was composed and arranged by Olivier “Akos” Castelli, a French producer from Lyon, who has worked and still works with great international and French artists such as : Killa Priest, IAM, Akhenaton, Soprano, Zaho … as well as for the original soundtracks of the “Taxi” movies.

The showcase began with the song <Beautiful>, written and produced by BTOB‘s Ilhoon. This ballad, with a lively and moving melody, shows the different and powerful vocal capacities of each member. Ilhoon has, in addition to writing the lyrics and music, directed the members when recording the song.
Shinwon: « Ilhoon “sunbae-nim” directed us, putting us at ease when recording and giving us many compliments, and for that we are very grateful. »
After holding some successful concerts in Japan, Thailand, Taiwan or even Singapore, PENTAGON have also made themselves known individually, in particular thanks to Triple H, the Cube Entertainment’s group consisting of E’Dawn, Hui and singer Hyuna. In addition to the opportunity given to them with Triple H, all members say they want to make themselves known to the general public through special individual activities. Meanwhile, Hui is beginning to attract more and more attention from the public after having the chance to produce the song <Never> for the show Produce 101, which received good reviews. Most members have also indicated their desire to write and produce more and more songs, to later take care of their own albums themselves and to bring their own colors.
About Yan An – the member who was injured during the rehearsals and had to undergo surgery – the members could only express their sorrow and regret that he could not participate in this comeback.
Hui: « Although Yan An is injured, he came anyway to encourage us backstage at the showcases with the fans, yesterday and the day before. We all regret that he can’t make this comeback with us, because he has trained very hard. »
During their very first showcase, for the album <PENTAGON>, leader Hui announced the goal of PENTAGON was to become a group combining the vocal performances of BTOB with the choreographic abilities of BEAST. And, by keeping this in mind, they continue to work everyday more intensely. Moreover, from living together, they all came to realize their improvements since their trainee years.
