On September 6th at 4pm, BRAND NEW MUSIC Entertainment presented its musical duo MXM (BRAND NEW BOYS) (who pre-saled 30,000 albums) during its debut showcase at the KT&G, in Gangnam.
The two members, LIM YOUNGMIN (rapper, born 12.25.1995) and KIM DONGHYUN (vocal, born 09.17.1998), who were revealed to the public by the show PRODUCE 101 where the first finished 15th and the second, 28th.
Even though for the moment, the group debuts with two members as a musical duet, at the end of Wanna One‘s contract, the two other trainees of the agency, LEE DAEHWI and PARK WOOJIN will join the group. Moreover, the last two participated in the writing of one of the song of the album “UNMIX“.

After the youngest member, DONGHYUN, thanked the journalists for being there in such large numbers, YOUNGMIN began to introduce the song “Good Day“ (written by Daehwi and Woojin). MC DingDong then could not help to notice YOUNGMIN‘s Busan accent when he pronounced the word “good“.
The reason why the album is called UNMIX: coming from the show Produce 101, they wanted to show that their two different talents are fit perfectly together. Even if they come from an agency where artists are mostly in hip hop, they wanted to show how talented they were in their own style.
After unveiling the M/V for “I’m the one“, they performed their title song live, the choreography being a small nod to the “Pick me” one from the show.
DingDong said himself he was expecting a lot of this showcase, knowing how the duo was so different from other idols and that it comes from a hip hop agency.
MXM, mentioned the fact they have pre-sold 40,000 albums. The members were surprised and happy that so many fans support them and they will work hard to be up to the task.
They also talk about the fact that their personalities are different: YOUNGMIN is much more timid and reserved, while DONGHYUN is more cheerful, they complete each other perfectly. DONGHYUN says that by YOUNGMIN‘s more discreet character makes him depends even more on him. Even though they are rookies, they have received a lot of love and attention from the fans and even more pressure. They congratulated Wanna One for their success and hope to see them again.

Even though they were not able to contact the Wanna One members since the end of the show, they thanked Woojin and Daehwi for visiting them, even though this included a 90° degree bow which ended up by a hug from Daehwi. They were able to ask questions about fansigns, promotions, what image they had to give while remaining themselves. They hope that, like their “sunbaes”, the song will hit the top of the charts. Like Woojin and Daehwi, their CEO, who is very busy, took the time to come to the showcase and chat with them and give them advice.
YOUNGMIN has no recollection of his youth in Singapore, so he said he would like to go back there. DONGHYUN, meanwhile, would like to travel to Europe, in Spain more precisely, because of the energy that the music and the Spanish landscapes give.
For the moment, the young duo, with an idol concept, express its fervent desire to be in control of its next songs, just like the rest of the artists of the agency are. YOUNGMIN also dreams to be able to perform on bigger stages and to hold a concert. One of DONGHYUN‘s wishes is to be on the list of artists present at the MAMA.
They ended their showcase after thanking the journalists and expressing their desire to show what they are worth.
The fans will be able to see them, not only on musical shows’ stages, but also at the annual concert of the agency, “Brand New World Seoul”, which will be held on September 22nd at the Jangchung Arena in Seoul.
