The korean group ASTRO is back with a new web drama dedicated to korean food.
ASTRO’s members are reunited for a new web drama called “Soul Plate” to promote korean food to foreign people. This web drama, which is put online by KBS Media, has subtitles in different languages and also English, to attract even more viewers. Each Friday, from October the 25th to November the 29th, there will be a new episode published on Naver and Youtube.
This web drama is composed of six episodes of ten minutes each and depicts the adventures of six angels played by ASTRO’s members (Moonbin, MJ, Cha Eunwoo, Yoon Sanha, Rocky and Jinjin) who meet a young farmer called Soopia, played by LABOUM’s Sol Bin. The six angels go to Earth to help people by inviting them to their special restaurant named “Soul Plate”. This place is considered as the second sky and is created to help people who have worries. If these people come to this restaurant, they can enjoy plates which heal and comfort them.
The first episode aired on October the 25th and made the viewers understand who the main characters are. Thanks to their acting skills, the actors spotlighted fresh fruits and vegetables from the Korean agriculture. For example, in some short scenes, Rocky can be seen cutting vegetables with vivid colors and MJ can be seen tasting farm produces as a juicy apple and a red bell pepper.
CHA EUNWOO, known for his talent as an actor, is the angel Raviel who works at the restaurant as the head chef. In the first episode, he appears as a serious leader but he is also mean to the farmer Soopia who thinks that they met before.
MOONBIN acts as the restaurant’s sous-chef Muriel. He is friendly, exuberant and has a bubbly personality which creates quite funny scenes in this first episode.
ASTRO’s main dancer ROCKY acts as Rumiel who works as the ingredient manager. He often listens to music of the human world with headphones. He is so immersed in the music that he cannot hear other people’s conversations and sometimes he doesn’t understand what happens at the restaurant.
ASTRO’s main vocal, MJ, is Raoniel who works as the dessert chef. He fell in love with human food and can be seen tasting fruits and vegetables from the restaurant’s kitchen.
ASTRO’s leader, JINJIN, acts as the angel Ariel. He works as a hall manager who can be seen really serious in arranging the restaurant’s hall and flowers.
The youngest member, YOON SANHA, acts as the angel Mirel who is the counter manager. While he has to wait for people’s reservation, he loves watching dramas but is corrected by the sous-chef.
As a reminder, the last time ASTRO’s members played in a drama as a group was in 2015 with « To be continued » which highlighted the boys singing, acting, dancing and rapping skills.
« Soul Plate » second episode is highly expected by ASTRO’s fans and will air on November the 1st on Naver and Youtube.
