It’s in the “Problem Child in The House” TV Show from may 4th that Seo Eun-Kwang, aka Silver Light (Eun : Silver ; Kwang : light), has confessed new information about his military service that ended up on 2020 April 7th.
The leader of the KPOP Boys Band BTOB (Born To Beat) has been the first member to enlist on 2018 August 21st, followed by LEE CHANG SUB and LEE MIN HYUK (ending their military services respectively on 2020 august 21st and September 12th). Invited in the KBS2 studios with Jo Kwon (from 2AM), SEO EUN KWANG talked with a lot of humour about his friendly rivalry with Yoon Doo-Joon (from Hilight’s KPOP Band) who enlisted at the same time. The Silver Light has confessed being the only one feeling a peaceful contest about the number of letters received by the two singers: “There are online letters lately. You get the letters every night, and out of the 168 recruits, Yoon Doojoon and I were celebrities, so fans send a lot of letters.” He explained, before completing with: “The assistants would divide the letters into three compartments. There was one for Yoon Doo-Joon, one for Seo Eun-Kwang, and one for the 166 other recruits. Doo-Joon got a lot of letters.” He ended up saying “I lost a bit, but I received plenty of love.”
At the end of his military service, SEO EUN KWANG said:
« I feel like starting a new life”.
Confessing more about his experience at the army, he said, during the show: “They say that everyone has dreams about the military after they’re discharged. I also returned to the military in a dream. I had a nightmare that I was back in the military as a soldier going on a march. It made my heart sink.” Both of the stars explained how important the encouragement letters are and the help between recruits.
Originally, all the members of BTOB wanted to enlist together so their fans would need to wait only two years for the band to group up again. But PENIEL, one of the rappers, is an American Citizen. One of the vocalist members of the band had announced, in an interview, that all BTOB members are family so they finally decided to enlist separately as PENIEL wouldn’t have to be alone for 2 years. The fans, saddened by the idea of a longer wait than expected, reacted very positively, affirming that the solidarity of the Boys Band is also one of the reason of their success and the love from the Melody (BTOB Fandom Name).

The Maknae (youngest member) of BTOB, YOOK SUNG JAE, has announced his upcoming enlistment on May 11th, also confirmed by CUBE Entertainment. He wished to enlist earlier but could not because of the Covid-19 pandemia. The two members IM HYUN SIK and JUNG IL HOON have not enlist yet. On an uncertain source (as Korean Melodies), IM HYUN SIK would have been accepted on the military band and is also about to enlist in 2020. This last information has not been confirmed by the star or CUBE Entertainment. Will the band be able to group up again for the 10th year anniversary in 2022?
