Singer JEON SOMI has set foot in the United States by signing a contract with Interscope Records, the flagship label of the world’s largest music group.

JEON SOMI’s agency, The Black Label, announced on July 21st the signing of the contract with the Interscope label under Universal Music Group.
Founded in 1990, Interscope is a famous label which includes world class pop stars such as Dr. Dre, Eminem, Maroon 5, Madonna, Lady Gaga and Billy Eilish. Previously, Blackpink signed a contract with this company in 2018 and entered the US market and other global markets.
“JEON SOMI is poised to become a world-class next-generation artist by approaching pop music in an original and delicate style,” said Interscope. “We have a relationship with YG Family, Teddy and The Black Label, which will give better results.”

Meanwhile, JYP Entertainment member JEON SOMI appeared on Mnet’s “Produce 101” in 2016 and topped the list, joining girls group I.O.I.
She ended her contract with JYP Entertainment in 2018 and signed an exclusive deal with The Black Label, a label under YG Entertainment. The new song “What you waiting for” will be released on the 22nd, with Teddy, the head of the agency.
