YUNA, a member of the girl group AOA, will be leaving the group after her contract ends.
As a result, AOA becomes a trio. However, the image of the group, which was damaged by the conflict between former members JIMIN and MINA last year, will likely make group activities impossible.
FNC Entertainment said on January 1st: “The exclusive contract with our artist YUNA has ended. She will also be leaving the group AOA.”

We would like to thank YUNA and support her in her new beginning. Please encourage her, with warm cheers YUNA, a former FNC Entertainment trainee, was selected as a member of AOA in an internal audition and made her 2012 debut with “Angels Story”.
AOA has managed to achieve several performances with hit songs such as “Mini skirts”, “Short hair“, “Heart attack” and “Like a cat“. Since 2016, the group has been reorganized into a group of five members after the departures of YU KYUNG, CHOA and MINA, having left one after the other.
Since then, the group has appeared on Mnet’s girl group competition program “Queendom” in 2019 and released their sixth mini-album “NEW MOON“. However, last year the former member MINA claimed to have been bullied by leader JIMIN during her career, which severely damaged the group’s image. Due to this incident, JIMIN left the group, and AOA collapsed into a quartet with SEOLHYUN, CHANMI, HYEJEONG, and YUNA.
This umpteenth departure makes a comeback of the group very unlikely.
