Group “STAYC” had the biggest sales of albums among the girl groups which debuted last year.

According to the rookie category of the “Annual Album Sales Regulations 2020” released by Hanteo Chart, the country’s largest music aggregation website, on January 25th, STAYC topped the album sales chart for 2020 (from January 1st to December 31st, 2020).
STAYC’s first single “STAR TO A YOUNG CULTURE“, released in November last year, recorded cumulative sales of 21,909 albums. This is the highest number of sales of new female artists this year.
“Even though we started at the end of the year, we have recorded over 20,000 album sales in a short period of time,” Hi-Up Entertainment said.
Additionally, STAYC sold a total of 12,295 copies (one week after the album’s release), becoming the only new female artists to have more than 10,000 copies sold last year.
STAYC, made up of six members, SIEUN, SEEUN, SUMIN, J, ISA and YOONY, is the first self-produced girl group by producer Black Eyed Pilseung (Choi Kyu Sung). The group garnered attention by ranking 21st on the US Billboard’s “World Digital Song Sales Chart”.
