MOON BIN : The member from ASTRO with the longest career

This January 26, we are celebrating MOON BIN‘s birthday. He is a member of ASTRO, who is known as a singer, dancer, MC, model, rapper, actor and the member of ASTRO with the longest career.

MOON BIN is known for having a great sense of smell, having a one-sided love for his cat and being considered as a talented young man looking like a cat when he stays still and a dog when he smiles. He is really different in and off stage because he can be crazy with his co-members but classy and sexy on stage. His physical strength is also a hot topic which can be seen during events such as “Idol Star Athletics Championships”. He is also close to ASTRO‘s CHA EUNWOO with whom he spent his high-school days.

MOON BIN was a model when he was a child and first debuted as a child actor when he appeared in the MV “Balloons” by TVXQ. This first experience in a K-POP MV made him want to follow an artist career. He then appeared in the famous drama “Boys over Flowers”.

Then, MOON BIN became a trainee for the company Fantagio when he was in middle school in order to develop his skills as a singer, dancer and rapper. He was a part of ITEEN project which aim was to choose the members who could be part of Fantagio’s new boy group. In 2014-2015, MOON BIN participated with the other trainees in the “Rising Star Project” which aim was for them to perform every week on Lotte World’ stage and prove they were the best trainees for Fantagio’s upcoming group.

At the same time, MOON BIN appeared in many videos from the company which showed the trainees’ life during their free time but also when working on their projects.

MOON BIN became a member of ASTRO and with the other members, he was a part of the mini web-drama before their debuts “To be continued” in which he was able to show his skills such as in the video under. After that, the six members performed on stage in different cities of Korea to meet their fans in the “Meet U Project”.

On February 23, 2016, MOON BIN debuted with ASTRO with the title-song “Hide and Seek” and then had many comebacks over the years. In late 2018, his dance cover of “24 hours” by the solo singer Sunmi became popular and proved he was a skilled dancer on several dance styles. His dance cover “Wannabe” by Itzy became really popular among his fans but also non-fans. MOON BIN quickly won recognition and also became a skillful actor. In 2019, he acted in the drama “Moments of Eighteen” playing the role of Jung Oh Je. His great performance was seen by many and gathered people’s attention.

In November 2019, MOON BIN had to take a short break in his career to take care of his health. He came back on February 2020 fully recovered and was able to keep on promoting with ASTRO and work on several projects. On March 2020, he became one of the “Show Champion”‘s MCs, revealing a new side of himself as a funny and classy MC on TV.

After that, he had a comeback in September 2019 with co-member YOON SANHA as ASTRO‘s first sub-unit with title-song “Bad Idea”. Their first win together on “THE SHOW” made them the fastest sub-unit  ever who received a win on a musical show.

MOON BIN is clearly an muli talented artist which always tries to improve in many artistic fields while being the most active with ASTRO‘s co-members that he considers as his family.
