This January 26th, 2021 marks an important day, the birthday of JEONG CHAN WOO better known as CHANWOO or CHAN, the maknae of the group IKON. The latter celebrates its 23 years!
Born in the district of Songpa-gu in Seoul, he was however raised in Yongin, a city comparable to the size of Seoul, known to be a very busy urban city because known for its water parks, schools and human museum. All this in Gyeonggi province. His family consists of his father, mother and an older brother.
The young man seems to have always had this artistic fiber because before starting in the group IKON, he was noticed quite young, we can notably see him in the clip « Balloons » of the mythical group TVXQ released in 2006.
In 2008, he also appeared in the drama-romantic film « Lost and Found » and a year later, in a drama that has now become a classic « Boys Over Flowers » playing the role of the 11-year-old actor LEE MIN-HO. He will also play the teenage role of the actor in « The Heirs » at the age of fifteen.
Before joining the agency YG ENTERTAINMENT, the young artist was trained at the agency FANTAGIO having almost made his debut with the group ASTRO.
Despite my research, I cannot find the exact date when CHAN joined YG ENTERTAINMENT, in any case, we find him in 2014 in the show « MIX AND MATCH », then making a place among the other members of the group TEAM B, already bonded by the show « WIN: Who Is Next ».
Thanks to the votes of the public as well as his hard work, CHAN was the sixth member to be revealed, joining the group of seven of YG ENTERTAINMENT, IKON.
CHAN is thus the secondary singer, being discovered with his group by the general public of the musical scene with the title « My Type ».
In 2019, the young man became known for his generosity, having donated 10 million won to the Hope Bridge Association of the National Disaster Relief to support the people of Goseong, victims at that time of a devastating fire.
We can now find him on his personal youtube channel « Chan’s life »(찬우살이), where he is very active and whose content is varied. Most of the videos are translated into English.
