JU HAKNYEON : Happy birthday to THE BOYZ’s all-round member

On March 9, we are celebrating JU HAKNYEON‘s birthday, who is a member from THE BOYZ.

JU HAKNYEON is known to be a rapper, singer and dancer from boy group THE BOYZ. He likes playing badminton and skiing and is the only member who learnt bboying. He also enjoys eating great food and is often seen eating with a great appetite. His favorite animal is pig maybe because his parents own a pigs farm on Jeju Island. JU HAKNYEON is able to communicate in Chinese and English because he is half Chinese-half Korean and he lived for a while in Hong Kong.

Before debuting, JU HAKNYEON was the only trainee from Cre.ker Entertainment who participated in a survival show entitled “Produce 101 Season 2”. In each episode, he was able to show his charms and many talents as an all-round trainee. One of his most famous performances was “Right Round” that yo ucan watch under. However, he was not able to be in the show’s final group and ended 19th.

Soon after the end of the show, his agency revealed the name of THE BOYZ actual members. Alongside his co-members, JU HAKNYEON participated in a reality show entitled “Flower Snack” in order to gain popularity and reveal each of the members. THE BOYZ debuted on December 6, 2017, with title-song “Boy”. After that, the group made many comebacks without rest and showed a bright, cute and cool side with synchronized choreographies. It was during title-song “No Air”‘s promotion that the members had more confidence during their filming and on stage. The group changed its style to become more mature with more intense choreographies and it attracted people’s attention. This song’s popularity helped THE BOYZ gaining more fans who then worked hard in order to give them a first win in a music show with title-song “Bloom Bloom”.

2020 was really THE BOYZ‘s year. Indeed, the eleven members all worked hard to become even better and show to many people their unique teamwork and perfect performances. First, thanks to a first album and title-song “REVEAL”, the group tried a new concept which was mystical and seductive. Because THE BOYZ tried to show new sides of themselves, the group’s agency revealed a new project entitled “GENERATION Z”. In May 2020, several short individual videos were released to introduce each of the members’ new side of themselves. They were all able to talk freely about who they really are and answer questions in order to be better known as normal young men. In the video under, you can discover JU HAKNYEON answering question with his natural vibe and speaking about his hopes for his career.

Between March and June 2020, he participated with his co-members to the reality show “Road to Kingdom” in which seven boy groups had to prepare performances in order to show the best stages and become the winner. THE BOYZ showed the best performances during most of the episodes thanks to a perfect teamwork and was also compared to a professional dance team. For the last episode, the eleven members had to reveal a new song and its title was “CHECKMATE”. This last performance was as impressive as their other ones and every group recognized that THE BOYZ was the best for almost all of the show’s episode. JU HAKNYEON was praised during this last performance for his vocal skills since he was able to almost rap and then use his powerful voice to hold a high note.

Then, THE BOYZ decided to make a comeback with a concept that suited what the members tried during  “Road to Kingdom” with title-song “The Stealer”. For this comeback, JU HAKNYEON showed for the first time a more mature and sexy side of himself on the group’s photos and videos released before the comeback day. “The Stealer” was a real success and the group won many trophies at musical broadcasts and was able to perform at the end of the year shows after completing a fan concert to celebrate their 3rd anniversary.

In December 2020, THE BOYZ prepared several performances which were impressive, but the most incredible one was for the 2020 MAMA. Indeed, the eleven members did a performance on the theme of the kings dressed as Greek gods and showed an perfect choreography with elements that reminded of “Road to Kingdom”. It was like an even better version of the show with the use of fire and many more acrobatics. The aim of this unbelievable performance was to introduce themselves as one of the teams for the upcoming show “Kingdom”.
