SONG MINO
The prosecution has requested a sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison against SONG MINO of WINNER, referred to justice for violation of the Military Service Act.

During the hearing held on April 21 under the direction of the 10th Criminal Division of the SEOUL WESTERN DISTRICT COURT (Judge Seong Jun Gyu), SONG MINO, who appeared at the bar in a black suit, admitted to the facts by stating:
“I wish to apologize. I suffer from bipolar disorder and panic disorder, but I know that this can in no way serve as a defense or an excuse. If the opportunity to serve again is given to me after recovering my health, I wish to finish my service with sincerity until the end”.
The prosecution asked the court on that day to sentence SONG MINO to a prison term of 1 year and 6 months.
Previously, this case was brought to the public’s attention in December 2024, when the entertainment media DISPATCH reported in an article that SONG MINO, while serving as a social service worker in facilities in the Mapo district of Seoul between March 2023 and December 2024, had habitually violated service regulations, notably by not respecting arrival times or leaving his place of work without authorization.
The MAPO POLICE STATION in Seoul, seized with a request for investigation by the MILITARY MANPOWER ADMINISTRATION, referred SONG MINO to the prosecution last May. The prosecution reportedly concluded, based on computer analysis of mobile phones and GPS records, that there had been a total of 102 days of unjustified absence, which led to his indictment.
According to the Military Service Act, if a social service worker leaves their service without a valid reason for 8 days or more in total, they can be sentenced to a term of up to 3 years in prison.
The court decided to set the date for the delivery of SONG MINO‘s first-instance verdict at a later time.
