It is on this Thursday, April 8th that the boysband BAE173 makes its comeback with a second mini album, entitled “INTERSECTION: TRACE”.
Composed of members J-MIN, DOHYEON, ILO, DOHA, YOUNGSEO, MUZIN, YOOJUN, JUNSEO and HANGYUL under the agency POCKETDOLL STUDIO, the boysband makes its comeback today with the title track “사랑했다“. It is during a showcase in Gangnam that BAE173 presents his new album, the showcase beginning with a teaser video. Quickly, the nine members take to the stage for a first performance on the track “I can’t sleep“, a soft performance highlighting the voices of the members who are seated to offer you this ballad. Afterwards, each member poses for the journalists to photograph, and they introduce themselves before taking their seats to discuss the comeback with the presenter.
This second album consists of a poster, a sticker board, two postcards and two random photocards, a random photo flyer and a photobook of more than a hundred pages, with the cover again random. It has five titles; “#Trace,” “사랑했다,” “I can’t sleep,” “Green light,” and the instrumental version of the title track. Before the showcase began, the track “Green light” was broadcast, light and conducive for this spring season, which represents the overall atmosphere of the album as well as its packaging in purple hues. Barely five months have passed since BAE173′s debuts, and the boys hope their fans will love this new album. During these five months, members have been hardly prepared to offer a lot of content to their fans during the wait, and during this promotion period.

This mini album is a continuation of their very first, “INTERSECTION: SPARK“, and talks about feelings of love, as reflected in the title song, which describes a person who loved another sincerely, but who did not believe in their story. The most important part of the choreography is when the members write “LOVE” with their hand, which they also represented in the group photos. Returning to the song “I can’t sleep“, YOOJUN describes it as a sweet melody that comes to us on a rainy day, contrasting with the dynamism of the song that follows, “Green Light“. While their comeback is officially at 6pm KST, the band plans to reunite with their fans via the Vlive app to share this special moment with them, unable to meet them directly because of sanitary conditions.
The most important thing for the boysband with this comeback is to be able to show the world their musical imprint, the “color” representing BAE173“, as well as their abilities in dance, singing and rap. The most complicated was to choose what to put forward for each member, especially since their very first album was cute, and they want to propose something new this time. They hope to one day hear word like “nothing surprising, it’s BAE173“, to reflect the fact that they would be recognizable in the vast musical landscape of Kpop.

The main interested bounced back from J-MIN‘s comments that it was the length of his legs that posed the most problem for him, and that he would love to learn from HANGYUL because he is good at sports. The boys later said they hope to receive praise for the comeback, saying they’ve improved and are “cooler” than they were when they started. According to HANGYUL, YOOJUN is the best fit for the concept of this new album, while YOUNGSEO and J-MIN stand out with their hair color, the first being compared to a vanilla coffee, and the second to an energy drink. YOUNGSEO recalls that when they started, his nickname was “strawberry milk”, so he’s curious what drink he’ll be for their future comeback.
MUZIN promises fans that if the boysband gets first place on a musical show, they will dance on stage disguised as cartoon characters, or more comical, like HANGYUL who wants to show a haircut that he compares to an apple. DOHA ends up comparing the group to a Korean menu, bibimbap, because it explains that all members are like ingredients that are mixed to create a succulent dish. It is on these last words that the group leaves the stage, before the clip of “사랑했다” is broadcast. It is surrounded by a very colorful atmosphere that we discover the boys on screen with a song that would almost recall some songs released during the years 2012-2015, providing a feeling of nostalgia. One shot in particular attracts attention, where YOOJUN finds himself facing a feline, before smiling at him, not frightened by the predator. This black and white scene contrasts with the rest of the very sparkling and dynamic clip. Once the broadcast is complete, the band takes the stage for the performance of the same song; signing their comeback.
