Fantagio MUSIC‘s ASTRO boysband is making its comeback with a new album, called “ALL YOURS“. The group gives itself during an interview:
In order to protect the artists and journalists of Covi19, the interview was done online and the boys answered questions that the journalists had sent them.
ASTRO is fantagio Music’s boysband, consisting of members JINJIN, ROCKY, MJ, MOONBIN, YOON SANHA and CHA EUN WOO. The boys, who made their debut in 2016 with the track “Hide and Seek“, released their first full-length album “ALL LIGHT” in January 2019 with the main track “All night“. Recently, the group presented its first sub-unit composed of YOON SANHA and MOONBIN which performed with the title “Bad idea” last September
The group returns this time with a second full album “ALL YOURS” composed of a total of 10 tracks. The main track “One“, and the tracks “Dear my universe”, “Butterfly effect”, “Someone else”, “SNS”, “All good”, “All stars”, “우리의 계절 (Our spring)”, “Stardust” and “별비 (Gemini)”.
Let’s leave now to the explanations of the members of the group ASTRO, for their 2nd album “ALL YOURS”.
1. Can you tell us how you feel for the release of this second album?
JINJIN : We’re making a comeback two months and three years after the release of our previous album, so we’ve prepared a lot and hope you’ll like it.
2. For the release of this second album, what did you focus on?
MJ : We paid a lot of attention to the visuals of this album, and it’s also the first time that three members of the group composed a song together. We see this as a challenge accomplished.
3. What is your main goal during your activities as ASTRO?
EUNWOO : We discussed it among ourselves and think it would be nice if our title track “One” got the first place in a music show. We hope to have good results at the end of our promotion period for this title.
4. Despite your active participation in TV shows and dramas, you have made the choice, EUNWOO, to make this comeback. How much are you invested in your group activities?
EUNWOO : Everything is interesting and I work hard. Whether it’s as a member of ASTRO, on the set of a drama or on TV shows, I want to do things right because I love these activities.
5. For this comeback, each member has a symbol. Can you explain the meaning of each of them and why you chose them?
MOONBIN : We each chose what we wanted to share as a symbol in the teaser to represent the positive atmosphere of it. We all want to send a sincere message in this album. I am in charge of “the laugh” because I want to make people happy in what represents the joys and sorrows of everyday life. Teaser
MJ : I’m the main vocalist and the oldest of the group, so I represent “the voice“, which is why you can often hear it. Teaser
JINJIN : I represent the “the breath” because it is something I want to share. Teaser
EUNWOO : There are joys and sorrows in life, so I tried to represent “tears” to express grief. Teaser
ROCKY : I represent “the hope“, hoping that ASTRO is the hope of the fans as much as they are for us. Teaser
SANHA : As I made my debut when I was a minor, I represent “the youth” to express the memories I have with our fans. Teaser
6. You have attracted the public’s attention with a variety of concept. What’s different from your previous activities?
JINJIN : As it’s a “full album”, we’ve been thinking a lot about what we should try. The difference with our previous concepts and that we focus more on the story, whereas here it is on the visual. In fact, the title track is more powerful than usual. We wanted to show new facets of ourselves.
7. As was communicating with your fans through an online fanmeeting in March? If you were to present this album with a word, which one would it be?
MOONBIN : It was nice to hold a fanmeeting after so long, even if it wasn’t in person. Your encouragement will help us in the future, and I think the word “cool” can define our album.
ROCKY : There’s “cool” but since the title is “One,” I think “one” is the right word. There is also “I want,” “connect like a circle” and “forever.” [because in these terms, the syllable “one / 원” is included].
8. When we think of Astro, we think of something refreshing. What image would you like to highlight in this album?
MJ : This time again it’s refreshing, but with our seventh mini album “KNOCK“, it was powerful. I think this time it’s all the more powerful because we’ve invested a lot in the choreography of this comeback.
9. What are the successes you want to achieve during your activities?
SANHA : As EUNWOO said earlier, we want to win first place in a music show and in the charts.
10. Since your beginnings, you have been able to show a variety of refreshing concepts. How do you represent it in this album, and how would you define this concept in relation to ASTRO?
ROCKY : We can’t make a refreshing concept just because we have to. I think ASTRO itself is refreshing, so whatever our concept, it will be too.
11. What is the meaning and message behind the title of the album “ALL YOURS”?
EUNWOO : This album is an extension of the album “ALL LIGHTS” and its meaning is that ASTRO wants to share everything with its fans.
12. Do you have specific themes or topics that inspire you to choose or write lyrics? (KSTATION TV’s question)
JINJIN : I always look for images when I write or compose songs because it allows me to visualize what I’m trying to represent specifically, which is why I don’t work without it.
MJ : I think I think I’m thinking a lot about the past. I remember my memories on stage or during concerts, like when I wrote the song “Gemini“.
ROCKY : Writing “Our spring” and “When the wind blows” I think of ASTRO to try to describe our history.
13. I heard that this album is about the inspiration that ASTRO wanted to give. Can you explain in more detail?
MOONBIN : This is the continuation of our first album “ALL LIGHTS“, released two years and three months ago. Thus, the ten songs on the album contain everything we want to say to our fans. As the members wrote the songs, it increases the quality of the album, which means that it’s an album where ASTRO gives everything to its fans.
14. JINJIN, ROCKY and MJ have composed many songs. Can you tell us more about the process of creating these songs?
MJ : When I wrote the song “Gemini“, I thought about the voices of the members, and I was relieved to see that they stand out so well together, as I thought.
JINJIN : I always wanted to show that I was playing on stage and I’m glad I was able to make that appear in the album. I’m happy with the songs because I feel they match what I wanted.
ROCKY : In my case, I wrote “Our spring” during the spring. During this season, everyone feels happy, but on the other hand, you can also be sad when contemplating spring. I thought of ASTRO and our fans to capture as much as possible. That’s how this song was born.
15. It’s been six years since your debuts. How do you think you’ve grown up?
SANHA : I think it’s “ease” that has changed the most in these six years. When I started, I was nervous before I went on stage and I couldn’t do the gestures I had prepared. As I got used to, I answer with “ease.”
ROCKY : At first I wanted to share my strength with our fans, but we were just beginners. I was rushing. I feel like I’ve grown up as an artist who inspires his fans, so I look forward to the future.
MOONBIN : I think it’s adaptation. I’m a human being, so if I don’t adapt, I can be nervous and make mistakes but I think over time I can adapt quickly. In addition, we have the ability to show different aspects and try multiple genres, translating our adaptation.
EUNWOO : In my case, I was very nervous at first. Of course I still am, but I try to find some fun to enjoy the moment. I think it’s changed a little bit.
JINJIN : I think it’s our unicity We used to show a lot of our group choreography but during these promotions we trust each other and highlight our personal skills, so I think we are united because we trust each other as a group.
MJ : As MOONBIN said, I think it’s adaptation because we’re challenging ourselves a lot. I think we have grown up because we are able to try different musical genres.
ASTRO‘s new MV “One” was released yesterday, April 5th, and already, in less than 24 hours, it has more than 7 million views on the band’s official channel. As the boys confirmed in their interview, the aesthetics and visuals are highlighted. Each member exploits his charisma with his blue suit or his leather outfit type, like “biker”. The raps are powerful and fast and the rhythm is characteristic of the kpop.
