The rumors of a reunification of 2NE1 ended in a simple event.

On April 14th, a news outlet reported that members of 2NE1, including CL, PARK BOM, SANDARA PARK and GONG MINZI, had finished recording an entire song. However, it turned out to be not true.

A CL official said:

“The registration on behalf of the group 2NE1 is without merit. I think there was a misunderstanding. CL working hard on a solo album.”

Earlier, CL appeared on KBS2’s “You Hee-yeol’s Sketchbook” show in October of last year and said, “It’s tough right now, but I want to get together, talk and listen to music. PARK BOM, meanwhile, appeared on KBS Cool FM on April 10th and said, “On the 11th anniversary of our debut, 2NE1 has come together to talk and record.” Which indeed could have been confusing.

As such, the members of 2NE1 have shown positive reactions to reuniting, bragging about their friendship. However, rumors of a surprise reunion on the 11th anniversary of their debut ended with a simple happy ending.

On the other hand, 2NE1 debuted with “Fire” in 2009 and established themselves as a representative K-pop girl group by producing many hit songs such as “I don’t care” and “I’m the best “. After its disbandment in 2016, the group members did solo activities.
