AIVAN is back with « Artificial Intelligence », a song about love and new technology.
AIVAN‘s comeback untitled « Artificial Intelligence » (인공지능 in Korean) is finally online. He wrote the song in 2018 when he was working on his master’s thesis. He was inspired after reading a research paper about the emotions human beings were facing in front of artificial intelligence devices.
During HOTBEAT (a show on Arirang Radio in which he is a regular guest), he explained that he wrote the song in only 3 hours. Even though he got through a lot of thinking and brainstorming for the rearrangements afterward, the lyrics came to him easily.
In « Artificial Intelligence », AIVAN describes the feelings of an AI. The soft and warm melody is balanced with the lyrics expressing at the same time loneliness and the beauty of selfless love. We can hear sentences like: “I wait for you to call out my name”, “I wish to know every little information about you” or “please talk to me”.
His voice is also supported by backup vocals. Those backup vocals help to reinforce the song theme which is about an artificial intelligence device dedicated to its owner but ignored by him.
However, the delicate melody with its jazzy tune makes us forget about this melancholic drive. AIVAN invites us to relax with his fresh and charming voice harmonizing with the smooth guitar line and the elegant piano chords.
