ONF, the “conquering group”, unveiled a digital cover of “POPPING” its new opus.
On July 25th, WM Entertainment, its agency, uploaded a video revealing the digital cover of the summer pop-up album “POPPING” via the official ONF’s SNS.
The published digital cover draws attention with an unusual image of a CD case placed on an expanse of snow. In the photo, which appears to be looking at members through a telescope, the ONF logo, phrases “ONF SUMMER POP UP ALBUM” and “POPPING” are inserted on the front, while a thermometer is located on the left side of the frame. This organically ties in with the content of the teaser that was released earlier, further enhancing the level of immersion of the concept.
In addition, as it was shown in the video, the effect of snow and the movement of the thermometer, the temperature of which is increasing more and more, add up to attract more attention. In particular, questions are added on ONF’s first summer song, “Popping“, which will have hidden meaning in rising temperatures even if placed in cold snow.
The first title track from the full NFB album, “Beautiful beautiful“, released in February, and the title track from the repackaged album “Ugly dance” in April, not only climbed to the top of various national music sites, but also beat their own record.
In addition, “Beautiful Beautiful” ranked 10th in the downloads chart in the first half of the Gaon Chart, and the US business magazine “Forbes” ranked it among the top 10 best-selling songs in Korea by mid -2021. The group shows its strongest global influence by being included in the “Best K-pop song of 2021” selected by the American media Time.
ONF will be releasing their summer pop-up album “POPPING” on various music sites at 6pm on August 9th.
