NCT 2021
The announcement of the NCT group’s project for this year, “NCT 2021” was made official on November 12th at midnight in South Korea. However, LUCAS and WINWIN will not be part of the adventure.
On November 12th, a first image was posted on the SNS of all NCT subunits, announcing, for December 14th, 2021, the release of the album “UNIVERSE”. This album will be released as part of the “NCT 2021” project, which the group has already successfully produced in the pretending years (in 2018, with the album “EMPATHY”, as well as in 2020 with the two albums “RESONNANCE Pt.1 “And” RESONNANCE Pt.2“).
The concept of such a project is to bring together all of the subunits of NCT: NCT DREAM, NCT 127, NCT U, and WAYV, which happens to be the Chinese unit of NCT. The goal is to release an album, with songs from all units included within that album.
But for this year 2021, the album “UNIVERSE” will be made without WINWIN and LUCAS, who are both members of WAYV. WINWIN (having started in 2016 with NCT 127 and which started again afterwards within WAYV) will not be in the project because the latter is in China, for solo activities. As for LUCAS, it is currently on hiatus, and no further press release has been issued by SM ENTERTAINMENT since the announcement of its hiatus.
“NCT 2021”, will then have to be done without the two members, and will be composed of the 21 other members of the various sub-units of NCT.
