GOLDEN CHILD: Japan loves them
Group GOLDEN CHILD topped the Oricon weekly singles chart with its first single released in Japan.

According to its agency Woollim Entertainment on February 1, the single “A WOO!!” by GOLDEN CHILD topped the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart compiled from the 24th to the 30th of last month.
The agency explained:
“GOLDEN CHILD is the sixth foreign male artist to top the Oricon weekly singles chart with its debut single.”
In addition to Oricon, GOLDEN CHILD also performs on major Japanese charts.
Since “A WOO!!” topped the Oricon Daily Single Chart (as of January 25), Billboard Japan Single Sales Chart (as of January 24-26), and Tower Records’ National Single Chart (as of January 26).
It also topped Billboard Japan’s weekly sales chart recently and Tower Records’ weekly singles chart.
GOLDEN CHILD, a 10-member group, debuted in 2017 with “GOL-CHA!” and gained popularity with songs such as “It’s U” and “Genie”.
“A WOO!!“, released in Japan, is an addictive song with the repetition of the onomatopoeia “A WOO!!“, reminiscent of the crying wolf in the chorus, and this single also includes a Japanese version of the first. Korean song “DamDaDi” and the title track of the debut album “Wannabe”.
