HONDA HITOMI, former member of the IZ*ONE group, took over the center of AKB48.

HITOMI HONDA said on his personal SNS on February 23,
“I will be in charge of the center of AKB48 59th single, which will be released on May 18.”
“It’s been about 8 years since I debuted. Thanks to you, who support me at all times, I was able to achieve my long dream. I’m really grateful,” she said, expressing her gratitude to fans.
“I will try to open my heart and grow considerably to be able to stand in this important position where only one person can stand, although I am happy of course, I am a little afraid. Again, I am forever grateful. I look forward and thank you for your kind cooperation.”
HITOMI HONDA joined AKB48 Team 8 in 2014. Since then, she appeared on Mnet’s “Produce 48” which aired in 2018, was selected as the first member, and has been a member of IZ*ONE for two and a half years.
After IZ*ONE’s activities ended last year, she returned to Japan and came back as a member of AKB48.
