LAY member of group EXO leaves SM Entertainment.

On April 8, LAY posted a handwritten letter to his Instagram, saying:

“This decade is one of the greatest gifts I could ever have received.“

LAY announced his split from SM Entertainment with a handwritten letter in Korean and English.

LAY thanked EXO members, SM Entertainment and fans, saying:

“It’s also my new beginning as a 30-year-aold“

Here is the full text of LAY’s English letter:

“Ten years of growth. Thank you all.
Thank you to my Exo members for your company and encouragement.
Thanks to my colleagues at SM for witnessing every step of my growth and achievement.
Thank you to all of my fans for your unconditionnal love and support.

It’s time to say goodbye as an employee of SM
It’s also my new beginning as a 30-year-aold.
But I will always be the Lay when my members need me.
I’m your family member in China, Zhay Yixing.
Love you forever”
