JELLYFISH ENTERTAINMENT‘s boy group VERIVERY makes its comeback today with the third album in its “SERIES O” album series, called “ROUND 3: WHOLE“.
Composed of members KANGMIN, MINCHAN, DONGHEON, YONGSEUN, YEONHO, GYEHYEON and HOYOUNG, it is with an album comprising thirteen titles that the group returns to the stage, during a showcase held in person in Seoul. This album is described as the climax, the apotheosis of “SERIE O“, released three years after the group’s debut. The title song is called “undercover”. As for the concept, it is intended to be an encounter with darkness, the group choosing to define this comeback with the keywords “hello darkness“. However, the tracks present in the album are not all dark in sound or in meaning, some were on the contrary sparkling and luminous.
To mark the start of the showcase, an introductory video of the members is presented, before they come to meet the journalists present in the room. The MC affirms that the group has prepared for this day for a long time, in order not to disappoint anyone and even less their fans. In addition, she recalls that the group recently toured at the end of 2021, and held showcases in February. After a photoshoot highlighting each member individually, the music video for “Undercover” was released, and then the group performed its new title track for the first time. Then, the young men take the time to chat with journalists to talk about this new album.

The group wishes to present an image of itself where it fights the darkness present in the world. GYEHYEON develops this idea further by stating that every individual has a part of darkness in him, but that it should not define him or devour him. This is a message close to the hearts of the boys, and so they practiced a lot so that the choreography also reflects this fight, as well as the overall aesthetic of the album and the music video. They hope that their efforts will be recognized and highlighted. DONGHEON considers himself the person who best represents this comeback, and flaunts his charms in front of journalists.
YEONHO is happy that the group manages to find its musical imprint in this concept and in the dance accompanying it. Regarding the dance, the members present the passage of the choreography, when they sing “ohlala you’re my metaphor“. The group then discusses filming, which they describe as that equal to a film. MINCHAN even refers to the film “Fight Club” which represents one of the sources of inspiration for this shoot. Thus, he considers that the comeback can be summed up with the word “combat”. DONGHEON adds being a fan of the UFC, and having developed nicknames and fighting techniques for fun.

YEONHO also recommends the tracks “Childhood”, “Velocity” and “Fine”. YONGSEUNG is happy to finally be able, after three years, to present a full album to his fans, who were undoubtedly impatient for this day to arrive. For this, VERIVERY wanted to direct its visual image towards a more fierce and sexy image. The members did a lot of sport to lose weight and gain muscle, in order to have a more masculine image, approaching that of a beginner boxer. In addition, the group’s maknae, KANGMIN, came of age this year, a big event for him and the group. Finally, they approach the title “O“, which can be defined as being the prequel of the “SERIE O“, before closing the loop. The group then performs this song, which therefore does not have a clip to accompany it. This is how the group concludes this showcase, by thanking the journalists and all the people giving them support and love.
