BLANK2Y: A new force that will blow your mind
A butterfly has just opened its wings, releasing a wave of powerful energy.
Today, May 24, 2022, the long-awaited day has arrived, KEYSTONE Entertainment‘s group BLANK2Y makes its official debut with a first mini album named “K2Y I: CONFIDENCE [Thumbs Up]“.
It was at the YES24 Live hall in Seoul, that the 9 members of the BLANK2Y group decided to present its first mini-album “K2Y I: CONFIDENCE [Thumbs Up]” to the press and therefore to KSTATION TV.
First of all, the BLANK2Y group is made up of 9 members, most of whom are not unknown to Kpop fans. Their names are YOUNG BIN that you may have seen in the survival “I-LAND”, LOUIS a former member of the group 1THE9, DONGHYUK who was a member of the group ENOi, SIWOO participated in the show “Produce X 101” and recently in the survival “Extreme Debut Wild Idol”, MIKEY took part in “Produce 101 Japan Season 2”, SUNGJUN was part of “W Project 4”, member DK participated in drama “갯마을 차차차”. Finally, to complete the group, two new faces are appearing, they are U and SODAM.
Even if the group is only officially debuting today, it didn’t wait to make itself known to fans around the world. Like many, the members used social networks to reveal different training sessions, covers or moments of life, the agency very quickly allowed the group to gain visibility by becoming the faces of an ecological cosmetics brand. , but also ambassador of “Blossom the hope 2022” among other things. The fans were able to discover the personalities of each thanks to a reality show called “BLANK2Y’s”.
The name of the group is the composition of two words “Blank” and “Key”, which put together refers to the meaning that they will be the keys to open the doors to its empty spaces in order to fill them.

The first mini-album of the group which is called “K2Y I: CONFIDENCE” consists of a total of 5 titles. The title track “Thumbs up“, as well as the intro “R“, the English version of “Thumbs up“, the title “Touch” and a song specially dedicated to fans “별자리“.
SIWOO explained:

The title track “Thumbs up” is of a trap genre with an awesome addictive chorus, which contains BLANK2Y’s unwavering ambition and confidence to fill the world with heat. CIELOGROOVE, a production team that produced ITZY’s “Weapon,” contributed lyrics and composition. The music video was directed by Cho Bum Jin, a creative director of UNVEIL, who directed Aespa’s “Black Mamba“, SuperM’s “Tiger”, and NCT 127’s “Sticker”.
“Thumbs up” is a song that shines the charm of BLANK2Y, who delivers a passionate performance to intense sound. The nine-member group overwhelms the eyes with a perfect group dance.
Thereafter the group reveals the performance of the title song “Thumbs up“, the visuals remaining impressive and the choreography very worked.
One of the peculiarities of the group is that the members have no official position, and that there is no truly defined leader. The group defines itself as “All rounder” (able to excel in all positions: Singing, dancing, rapping and visual. Noting this, KSTATION TV asked the boys to show that they were all capable of rapping:
