A comeback at 10 members and no longer at 12 members ?
YG Entertainment announced in a press conference on May 27 that TREASURE had started preparing for a new album with the aim of making a comeback this summer and also planned to hold a second solo concert.
However, this comeback is not like the others since two members will miss the call. Regarding the suspension of the members YEDAM and MASHIHO. YG Entertainment said:
“YEDAM decided to focus on studying music for a while according to his opinion that he wanted to further strengthen his production capabilities, and MASHIHO, who is on vacation in Japan, requested an extension of his break to health reasons and decided to spend more time with his family in his hometown”.
Moreover YG Entertainment adds that
“After enough discussion with TREASURE members, we have decided to give both members more breaks, so we ask for your understanding and support.”
As a result, TREASURE will continue its activities with only 10 members (Choi Hyun-seok, Ji-hoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jae-hyuk, Asahi, Doyoung, Haruto, Park Jeong-woo, and So Jeong-hwan) at this time. This is the first change in over two years since its debut in August 2020.
The reaction of the fans is quite ambivalent: on the one hand they are very excited at the idea of the group’s comeback, but on the other hand they regret the absence of the voices MASHIHO and YEDAM on the album, two leading members of TREASURE.
