PENTAGON - HUI
PENTAGON member HUI (real name Lee Hoe Taek) has given himself a surprise challenge for the idol audition program.

According to the E-Daily media report on December 19, HUI applied for Mnet’s “Boys Planet” show as a contestant and is filming the show.
“Boys Planet” is an audition program for selecting members of a boy project group. This is a male version of “Girls Planet 999”, which aired last year and created the girl group project Kep1er.
The enthusiasm for this new edition was so intense that thousands of people from a total of 84 countries and regions tried their luck. Mnet confirmed the presence of 98 participants in the program after a total of three in-depth recruitment sessions. The participants gathered at a location earlier this month and began training camp to film the program.
HUI, who was born in 1993, made his debut in the music industry as a member of PENTAGON in 2016. He has also written and composed several hit songs such as Wanna One’s “Energetic” and “Shine” of Pentagon, earning the “Genius Composer Idol” qualifier. Last year he started his alternative service as a social worker and went on hiatus, he was fired last month and returned to work.
HUI’s appearance in “Boys Planet” resembles that of current Kep1er member Choi Yujin from the Cube Entertainment family. Earlier, when Choi Yujin was a member of girl group CLC, she chose to join the adventure to appear in “Girls Planet” and was eventually selected as a member of Kep1er starting a new beginning. His original group CLC officially disbanded in May.
Attention is focused on whether PENTAGON member HUI will be able to gain new momentum from this audition programs of idols like Choi Yujin. Mnet is aiming to start broadcasting in February next year and is filming the first shots for the show.
