BTS’ JIMIN’s song “Friend” has proven its high popularity.
On December 27, JIMIN’s produced song “Friend” surpassed 190 million streams on Spotify, the world’s largest music platform.
“Friend” received an even response on national music site Melon, recording 44.43 million plays and on official YouTube with a total stream of 132.4 million and over 2.4 million viewers.
“Friend,” which is a track from the fourth full-length album and boasts of JIMIN’s ability to write, compose, and produce, is a beautiful combination of witty autobiographical lyrics and a joyful, gospel-like melody. At the time of its release, the song was selected as a candidate song for the “Song of the Year” at the 2020 Gaon Music Awards in February and showed overwhelming influence by earning gold certification from the Japan Record Association (RIAJ). In particular, it proved its popularity by being inserted as the soundtrack for the film “The Eternals”.
JIMIN recently announced a collaboration with singer Taeyang, attracting the attention of domestic and overseas listeners.
