According to a preview of the latest ranking (September 23) released on official SNS by American music media Billboard on September 18 (local time), BOYNEXTDOOR’s first mini album “WHY…” ranked 162nd in the ranking top of the albums “Billboard 200.”
BOYNEXTDOOR ranked 5th, the highest K-pop chart, on Billboard’s Hot Trending Song chart last week (September 16) with the title track of its debut mini album, “But Sometimes” and was listed on the Billboard 200 112 days after its debut, proving its relentless global rise.
Before that, “WHY…” and “But sometimes” topped the iTunes “Best Album” and “Best Song” charts in various countries and regions, and “WHY…” ranked third in Oricon’s “Weekly Albums Ranking” in Japan (September 18).
With this comeback, BOYNEXTDOOR has achieved remarkable results at home and abroad, marking its status as a big rookie in 2023. Particularly, comparing the initial sales volume (the first week of sales) based on the Hanteo Chart, the new opus has sold nearly 450,000 copies, four times more than the previous “WHO!”. They also won two trophies in music programs, confirming their explosive popularity.

Meanwhile, BOYNEXTDOOR’s “WHY…” is a story that stems from lead single “WHO!” which deals with a moment of falling in love and honestly sings about various emotions of the moment of love and separation.
BOYNEXTDOOR, who is very popular as a “rookie”, will appear on SBS M and SBS FiL’s “The Show” at 6 p.m. KST on September 19 to perform “But sometimes“.
