BAEKHO successfully performed his first stage performance to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Korean premiere of the musical “Marie Antoinette“.

BAEKHO took the stage as the charming and courageous Swedish aristocrat Axel von Ferzen, who loves Marie Antoinette, in the musical “Marie Antoinette” held at the D-Cube Art Center in Guro-gu, Seoul, on February 28.
Count Axel von Ferzen, the male protagonist played by BAEKHO, appears as an object of envy among women and shares an ardent love with the French Queen Marie-Antoinette. BAEKHO portrayed Axel von Ferzen’s sad and beautiful love towards Marie Antoinette with delicate voice and lyrical playing.
BAEKHO’s performance of “Baekho’s own Perzen“, complemented by excellent character analysis and skill, dominated the progress of the play, depicting a desperate love for a lover that leads to tragedy. Marie Antoinette immersed the audience as a support who helps him even though she knows she cannot become his companion and a person who understands his true nature.
In particular, the various performances revitalized the room with BAEKHO’s tone and power, moving back and forth between soft mids and highs. The numbers inserted in the scene where Marie Antoinette and Axel von Ferzen whisper love, such as “내가숨쉴곳” and “가면무도회”, also gave the audience a sincere impression.
BAEKHO said, “We have completed our first performance of the musical ‘Marie Antoinette.’ It is an honor to be on an important stage to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Korean premiere,” adding, “I think “The efforts made by the cast and staff during the training period shined on stage. I will continue to do my best to make a greater impression.“

The musical “Marie Antoinette” is based on the works of Michael Kunze and Sylvester Levey. It highlights the dramatic life of Queen Marie-Antoinette, who ended her life on the guillotine in the 18th century because of the French Revolution, in contrast with the life of Magrid Arnaud, a fictional character who leads the revolution, to convey the true meaning of truth and justice.
After premiering in Korea in 2014, performances were held in 2019 and 2021, receiving enthusiastic love and response from audiences. In Korea, the stage, costumes, choreography, storylines and music were reorganized to reflect the preferences and emotions of the domestic audience. This year’s show will be a celebration of the 10th anniversary of its premiere and grand finale, beginning with the first stage on February 27 and continuing through May 26.
“Marie Antoinette” is BAEKHO’s fourth musical appearance. He appeared in “Equal”, “Alta Boyz” and “Midnight sun: The musical”.
