KATSEYE, the international girl group from Hybe and Geffen Records, will finally make their U.S. debut.

KATSEYE is a group formed through the audition program “The Debut: Dream Academy“, which aired from September to November last year. The group consists of six members, DANIELA (United States), LARA (United States), MANON (Switzerland), MEGAN (United States), SOFIA (Philippines) and YOON CHAE (Korea), who were selected according to a competition ratio of 6,000 to 1.
The girls released a video of the group’s logo trailer on Hybe label’s YouTube channel on June 13 (local time) and began their first countdown. The shape of the six-legged jewel, which takes different forms depending on the viewing angle, and the mysterious light of the sphere which constantly moves around the jewel suggest the identity of the group. Notably, at the end of the video, the date titled “JUN 28 00AM ET” is engraved.
Hybe and Geffen Records said, “KATSEYE’s first single will be released on June 28 at midnight (1 p.m. KST). The second single and EP album will also be released in July and August, respectively. KATSEYE will show fans everything they have prepared so far and will start a new journey together.”
KATSEYE is the first girl group from Hybe and Geffen Records to debut in the United States. During the 90-day audition, the six members completed assignments to evaluate dancing, singing, teamwork, concept assimilation and artistry, demonstrating their skills as pop artists. world stars.
Fans around the world are already supporting them. When “The Debut: Dream Academy” was broadcast, more than 220,000 fans from countries and regions joined these communities on the global super fan platform, Weverse, and actively engaged. Currently, the number of subscribers to the KATSEYE fan community is around 300,000.
Bang Si Hyuk, Chairman of Hybe, expressed his expectations for KATSEYE during the ‘Dream Academy’ live finale, saying, “I hope it represents the voices of a new era and a new generation and that it will inspire young people around the world who dream.”
The US Grammy Dotcom also included them in the list of “11 Rookie K-Pop Acts to Know In 2024” released earlier this year.
