DKZ member MINGYU will play the lead role in the musical “Zorro: Actor-Musician.”
According to his agency, DONGYO Entertainment, MINGYU will play the role of the main character Zorro (Diego) in the musical “Zorro: Actor-Musician,” which will open on September 11.
“Zorro: Actor-Musician” is based on Isabel Allende’s best-selling novel “Zorro.” It is set in early 19th century California, where Diego relentlessly fights for justice and love after returning to live a free life as a gypsy and to seek revenge on his father and protect his hometown.
In particular, the upcoming performance will be an “actor-musician” version where the actors will perform not only by dancing, singing, and acting, but also by playing musical instruments on stage. The goal is to provide the audience with more passionate acting with boundless energy. MINGYU, who plays Zorro, is expected to portray Zorro’s joy, sadness, and pleasure in three dimensions based on his rich vocals as well as his refreshing voice.
MINGYU, who debuted as DKZ in 2019, is beloved within the group and unit NINE to SIX for his unique lively energy. MINGYU has been recognized for his singing and acting talents by appearing in a number of musical works such as “The Three Musketeers,” “Secretly Greatly: THE LAST,” and “5! Happy Man,” so expectations are high for his performance as a rising star in the musical.
The musical “Zorro: Actor-Musician,” starring MINGYU, will be performed at Interpark Uniflex in Jongno-gu, Seoul from September 11 to November 17.
