2Z is gearing up to make a splash on the European scene with its upcoming tour, “A CRASH LANDING IN EUROPE“. After setting stages ablaze in Latin America and Japan, the group is now turning its attention to Europe, ready to share its music filled with hope and inspiration.
The European tour, “A CRASH LANDING IN EUROPE“, will kick off on September 21st in Lisbon (Time Out Market), followed by London on the 22nd, Paris on the 23rd, 24th or 25th (waiting for the promotor’s confirmation), Warsaw (Voodoo Club) on the 26th, and Frankfurt (Ponyhof) on the 29th. This tour is inspired by its conceptual universe, “2Z Planet, a distant universe in search of love“. The secret agents of 2Z, having crash-landed on Earth, arrive in Europe to deliver unique, dynamic, and sometimes lyrical performances under the theme “Healing each other through music and becoming one through love“.
In this interview, the members of 2Z reveal the inspiration behind its universe, the challenges it face on tour, and its expectations for this first visit to Europe.
- Your European tour is titled “A CRASH LANDING IN EUROPE.” What inspired this title?
HOJIN: “The title ‘A CRASH LANDING‘ is inspired by our fictional universe. We come from ‘2Z Planet‘, a place where we were trained as secret agents to come to Earth and heal humans through music. When we arrived, we accidentally crash-landed in a desert, symbolizing the difficulties of our arrival. This European tour represents our mission to spread happiness and hope through our music.“
- You’ve mentioned that your music often deals with themes of love, happiness, and healing. How do these themes reflect your personal experiences, and what message do you want to convey to your European fans?
JISEOB: “Life is full of ups and downs, and sometimes it can be tough to deal with certain pains. For me, music is a way to overcome these moments of uncertainty. My support comes from my fellow members, who are always by my side. We want 2Z to be a refuge for anyone who feels lonely or overwhelmed, a place where they can find comfort and hope through our music. We hope to be that support for our European fans.“
- The concept of “2Z Planet” is fascinating. Can you explain how this universe influences your music and performances?
JUNGHYUN: “‘2Z Planet‘ is a highly advanced world where peace and absolute freedom are ideals. However, complex emotions like love are seen as obstacles to this peace. Responding to a distress signal from Earth, we were sent to heal humans through music. Over the course of our mission, we realized that love is what helps people on Earth overcome difficulties. This message is at the heart of our performances, where each song is connected to this story.“
- This is your first European tour. What are you most looking forward to?
BUMJUN: “The tours in Latin America and Japan were amazing, and now we can’t wait to meet our fans in Europe. I’ve always dreamed of visiting Europe! Doing it on tour with my members makes it even more special. I’m particularly excited to visit Paris and London. I’ve always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower and explore Parisian culture, and in London, I’d love to watch a Tottenham football match.“
- What are the biggest challenges you face on tour, and how do you overcome them?
ZUNON: “The biggest challenge is adapting our sound to the different concert venues, each with its own unique acoustics. During our Latin American tour, I spent entire nights reworking the settings with our producer to get the perfect sound. The long journeys between cities are also exhausting, but we push through.“
JUNGHYUN: “Preparing for the tour is often harder than the tour itself. We spend hours adjusting the setlist, discussing it up until the last minute before leaving Korea. Once we’re at the airport, waiting to depart, we finally think: ‘Now all that’s left is to enjoy ourselves.’“
- What can European fans expect from your performances during this tour? Are there any surprises you can share with us?
ZUNON: “We put a lot of emphasis on the spectacle in our performances. Expect special transitions, intros and outros, covers, and much more. But to find out more, you’ll have to come see us live!“
- Do you have a message for your European fans who are eagerly awaiting your concerts?
HOJIN: “We were really sad when our European tour, initially planned for June, was postponed. We worried about whether the September tour would go ahead as planned, but we’re doing everything we can to make it happen. We can’t wait to see you all in September with smiles on our faces!“
JISEOB: “We know many fans in Europe, whom we call ‘FromA,’ have been waiting for a long time. Thank you for your patience. We’ll be meeting soon, and we promise to create unforgettable memories together. See you very soon!“
