Professional and dynamic, NOWADAYS is back!
The male group NOWADAYS of the agency CUBE ENTERTAINMENT made its comeback on this 27th August with a second single called «NOWHERE».
Consisting of members HYEONBIN, YOON, YEONWOO, JINHYUK and SIYUN, the group made its debut in April 2024, so it was only four months later that it held a showcase in Seoul for the local press. It is a comeback expected as the very first song of the group, «Oowee» won the first place in a musical show seven days after its release.
This new single is composed of three tracks: “Why not?” the title song, “Heart vs Head” and “걔 말고 너“. The title of the album has a double meaning: NOWHERE; nowhere, and NOW HERE; now and here. The showcase marking the release of «NOWHERE» begins as usual with a video presenting one by one the members of the group, before they go on stage to perform. After a short photo session, the group discuss with the MC the details of the release of this second single.
The hall is full of journalists, all curious to know this promising group that has shown throughout the summer its talent through festivals. The colours representing this comeback are more oriented towards pink and black, with a few touches of white to underline the whole. This day is especially special because it’s the birthday of YOON who celebrates his 21st birthday.
The group begins by expressing its joy at the idea of making its comeback so quickly, saying it have worked hard and taken into account the feedback received during the promotions made for it debut. What impressed the members most was their activities abroad, not expecting to do any so quickly. However, they are not relying on their success and hope that this new single will appeal to the public. Although they feel a little stressed, their goal is above all not to have any regrets for this new period of promotion.
Despite the young age of the group, it shows professionalism on stage, answering questions and comments of the MC with naturalness, and without hesitation. A medley is broadcast to briefly discover the three songs that make up this new single, starting with the title song «Why not?» which talks about love and dreams. The first time members heard this song, they expressed their gratitude for being able to present a new facet of NOWADAYS to its fans, the song accurately highlighting each member and their talent.

«Heart vs Head» continues the trajectory started by the title song on the theme of love, bringing a cute atmosphere to the single. According to YOON, it is a song that will quickly find its place in the hearts of those who listen to it. As for “걔 말고 너“, it focuses mainly on friendship, towards a person with whom one could talk about anything and everything, always having fun. SIYUN was one of the contributors to the lyrics for this song.
The boys have worked very hard for this comeback, and transmitting energy to their fans with their music is their priority in order to return all the love they receive. The leader, HYEONBIN, says that the group is not afraid of challenges because their team spirit is strong, while JINHYUK added that he hopes that journalists will feel all their energy too.
The clip from “Why not?” is then broadcast, before the boys in turn perform the song whose MV portrays them as students doing sports. The performance that follows is dynamic, and detailed choreography, highlighting the singers. After they have rested for a few minutes, they come back on stage to talk with the press for a few more minutes and revisit the performance.
HYEONBIN is happy that the performance went without any mistakes, being even more excited to make a comeback. The members also return to the steps of the chorus, key moment of the choreography with the dance break. The emphasis was on dance, which has a lot of detail. It is therefore recommended to watch it several times to capture all of them. It was sometimes difficult during the recordings to convey the power of the song, but the members are all satisfied with the final result.
Returning to their debut, SIYUN returns on their first performance in Japan where the group performed the title «Rainy day», title marking its debut and being a remake of a song of the same name of the group B2ST who was in the same company. It is important for NOWADAYS to show the variety of styles they can try and show on stage, gradually trying to get involved in productions of the group such as SIYUN who wrote lyrics this time.
Even though the group hasn’t debuted for a long time, it’s important to highlight its love of music and the stage, while keeping in mind to perfect itself to continue to exceed itself in its daily lives and during its next activities. In addition, members focused on their physical fitness, taking care of their health and doing sports, including SIYUN who took the most muscle in the group. According to YEONWOO, there was no need to diet through sport.

Members also worked on their relationship to the camera, initially finding it intimidating to be filmed daily but eventually accepting its presence and working on their facial expressions. They also looked at their previous performances to analyze what they needed to improve in the future, such as their dance or energy. This is how the showcase ends, not without expressing the desire to again get the first place in a musical show.
The group will find their fans that evening during a showcase for them. Each member thanks the journalists who came, wishing everyone good health, saying that NOWADAYS has much more to tell the public in the future.
