YG Entertainment‘s new girl group BABYMONSTER has set a new record with its first official song “Sheesh” ahead of the release of its first full album.

According to YG Entertainment, on October 5, BABYMONSTER’s music video for “Sheesh” surpassed 300 million views on YouTube as of 11:40 p.m. KST the previous day. This has been approximately 186 days since its release on April 1, the shortest music video for a K-pop girl group’s debut song.
Immediately after its release, the music video jumped straight to the “most viewed video in 24 hours” and topped YouTube’s weekly global chart. The period, which reached 100 million views (10th) and 200 million views (33rd), also saw overwhelming popularity, breaking new records for K-pop girl groups.
The song “Sheesh” also achieved remarkable results. The song was on the Billboard Global Excl. BABYMONSTER charted on the US and Billboard Global 200 for 18 and 14 weeks respectively, and was on the global weekly top songs chart on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, for 10 consecutive weeks.
In addition, BABYMONSTER’s influence on YouTube is growing stronger by the day. Despite being newcomers, they have amassed six billion views, with 6.94 million subscribers to their official channel, and have accumulated over 2.6 billion views of their content.
BABYMONSTER will be releasing their first full-length album this fall. Although details are unknown, music fans around the world are paying close attention to the album, as YG Entertainment stated earlier, “The album recording process has been completed and we will be producing music videos for several tracks, including the title track.“
