BIG OCEAN
BIG OCEAN, the world’s first hearing-impaired idol group, will be visiting Geneva, Switzerland, at the official invitation of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).

On November 5, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an organization affiliated with the UN, announced on its official website that BIG OCEAN would participate and perform at the “AI for Good Global Summit” to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, on July 8-9 (local time).
The agency said,
“BIG OCEAN uses singing voice conversion (SVC), one of AI’s voice technologies, in the music production process. Amid growing social problems, such as AI’s misuse of voice for voice phishing or deepfake, BIG OCEAN has been evaluated as a positive use case of AI voice. We saw it as an example of overcoming the difficulties caused by hearing limitations through artificial intelligence,”
explaining why BIG OCEAN was invited.
The “AI for Good Global Summit” is a representative UN event on AI involving over 40 sister UN organizations, and has established itself as a global hub for seeking practical solutions to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) using AI technology since its launch in 2017. It plays a role in spreading AI solutions worldwide by connecting AI innovators with CEOs from the public and private sectors.
Meanwhile, BIG OCEAN will release its first mini album “FLOW” at noon KST on November 12. With the title track “Flow,” it will introduce “Free-Soul Pop,” a new genre that proposes the value of “Let’s be happy by ourselves through music” with music that is entirely “for me.”
