BLACKPINK‘s JENNIE has once again made headlines, but this time, it’s her fashion choices that are dividing.
On March 6th and 7th, 2025, the singer JENNIE of YG ENTERTAINMENT‘s BLACKPINK performed at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles to celebrate the release of her new album « Ruby ».
Her performance on stage did not go unnoticed. Indeed, right after it, many videos were shared on social networks. Her clothing choices sparked mixed reactions from Internet users, judging her stage outfits far from the « K-pop » style : JENNIE notably wore a very low-cut one-piece outfit as well as pants that were low-cut at the hips.
Despite the criticism, many of the singer’s fans have, on the contrary, appreciated the singer’s fashion choices, saying things like « She looks like a pop star », « That’s a style that only JENNIE can have ».
JENNIE appeared in a video on the YouTube channel FAIRYJAEHYUNG released on March 9th and revealed that she put a lot of effort into the outfits for this album, saying : « I love watching runway shows. I wanted to create something new between the modern feeling I wanted to express and the classics I loved. For example, it’s like this ridiculous vest. I bought it at a small vintage store with my stylist and said I would wear it one day, so I kept it, and now I have a lot of them in the album images. These are outfits that I’ve been collecting for a long time ».
Despite criticism, JENNIE‘s bold outfits reflect her evolution as an artist on the international music scene.
