GHOST9 gives French Ghosties a special moment to close their European tour.
After touring across Europe, GHOST9 wrapped up their “THE NEW MIDNIGHT TOUR” on Friday, March 14, 2024, at the Cabaret Sauvage in Paris.
After a slight scare at the beginning of the tour regarding PRINCE‘s participation due to logistical issues, KSTATIONTV, invited by STUDIOPAV, was delighted to join the French Ghosties to reunite with the full group and celebrate the end of this European adventure.
The boys arrived dressed in sailor-inspired uniforms and set the tone with “Think of dawn“, one of their most complex and high-energy choreographies, immediately pulling the audience into their dynamic performance. The concert continued with “Reborn” and “W.all“, before the members took a moment to greet their French fans. Each of them expressed their excitement in their own way: SHIN by setting the stage on fire with his natural charisma, PRINCE by greeting the crowd with a lively “Wesh Paris!“, SINWOO,JUNHYUNG, WOOJIN, and KANGSUNG by sharing their happiness to be in Paris.
SINWOO explained that this tour was all about giving the fans a great night while introducing them to new things, hence the name “THE NEW MIDNIGHT TOUR“. And just as he announced, the night had a few surprises in store!
After an explosive start, the boys turned on the charm with “Love parachute“, then closed this heartfelt moment with “Up all night“, accompanied by a poetic staging: colorful paper airplanes, used as props, were later thrown into the crowd, adding a magical touch to the moment.
The evening continued with a highly anticipated interactive segment: the “Make a wish” session, where the members answered audience questions, giving fans a chance to learn more about them!
WOOJIN surprised everyone by revealing that he had tried French escargots… and loved them (especially the sauce), unlike most of the audience. Meanwhile, KANGSUNG shared his excitement about fulfilling one of his dreams: visiting Paris and admiring the Eiffel Tower.
Then came the surprises: two solo performances, one from leader JUNHYUNG and the other from maknae JUNSEONG.
JUNHYUNG turned up the heat with an R&B cover, both sung and danced, featuring a sensual choreography, something he has loved doing throughout this tour. And then… in a spontaneous move, his jacket flew off, leaving him shirtless under the enthusiastic cheers of the crowd!
JUNSEONG kept the softer vibe going with a cover of “Sugar” by MAROON 5, getting the entire audience to sing along in a warm and joyful atmosphere.
Before the final part of the concert, the group brought the energy back up by performing “Ruckus“, “Control“, and “X-ray“, followed by fan-favorite covers from their appearance on “Peak Time“, including “Never ever” by GOT7 and “Fever“, their own song that left a lasting impression during the show.
As the night neared its end, it was time for the final songs and heartfelt thanks to the staff and, most importantly, the Ghosties:
SHIN: “Life is full of meetings and farewells, and that’s also what our choreography for “The Midnight” represents… But don’t worry, we’re already preparing new things, and we’ll come back to you. Wait for us!” His statement immediately sparked excitement among the Ghosties, fueling speculation about a future project.
JUNHYUNG spoke with emotion: “The first concert of this tour was already a month ago, and now here we are in Paris for the final show. Without the encouragement of the Ghosties, this would have been difficult. Thank you so much for your patience and support. I say this all the time, but really, thank you for being our inspiration. I love you.”
WOOJIN: “Thank you so much to everyone for coming. With each performance, I feel new emotions, and I hope I can translate them into a new song. Thank you for everything.”
KANGSUNG: “I was a bit nervous at the beginning of the tour… I knew you had been there from the start, and I was afraid of disappointing you after such a long wait. But you enjoyed every moment, and that reassured me a lot. I’m really, really happy. I always say this at the end of every tour: we are illuminated by the stage lights, but what we truly see are your eyes.”
PRINCE: “This tour is coming to an end… Our last one was three years ago, and we’ll make sure you don’t have to wait that long next time.”
A promise that the Ghosties will hold onto, hoping to see them again soon in France and Europe!
The night ended on an intimate and joyful note with “Awesome day” and “Down for you“, giving GHOST9 and their fans one last special moment together. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the members captured these moments in vlog-style videos, filming with their cameras and even borrowing fans’ phones to leave them with a unique memory.
This final concert of the “THE NEW MIDNIGHT TOUR” in Paris will remain forever etched in the memories of the Ghosties and the members of GHOST9. Now, all we can do is wait for their return to France… and hopefully, this time, JUNSEONG will finally get to fulfill his dream of visiting Paris Saint-Germain!
