OH MY GIRL
The WM ENTERTAINMENT female group OH MY GIRL performs in Seoul at the «MILKY WAY» concert.
Composed of the members HYOJUNG, MIMI, YOOA, SEUNGHEE, YUBIN and ARIN, the group that started in 2015 celebrates its ten-year career. This concert is therefore an opportunity to introduce the fans, MIRACLE, two exclusive songs: «Oh my», title honoring the decade of career of the group, and «일기예보», specially prepared for the concert. MIMI has notably participated in the writing of the first of the two songs, bringing a more personal touch to the title already realized before the concert.
The show starts naturally with the broadcast of a VCR to present the members of the group. The concert, taking place in Seoul, brings together both girls and boys, Koreans and foreigners, proving that OH MY GIRL touches the whole world with its soft and magical music. The concert’s tracklist brings together songs from different albums of the group, going back even to their very first one, a way to take stock of the past ten years and the evolution of the group. The concerned albums are therefore « CLOSER », « DREAMY RESONANCE », « THE FIFTH SEASON », « PINK OCEAN », « OH MY GIRL », « NON STOP », « REAL LOVE », « DEAR OHMYGIRL », « REMEMBER ME », « COLORING BOOK », « GOLDEN HOURGLASS », « 비밀정원 », as well as titles from the show “QUEEDOM” and it Summer Package “FALL IN LOVE”. A plurality of titles and origins that will delight the fans of the group!
The first song begins, “Closer”. The singers wear white and angelic outfits, followed by “Classified”. Then they perform «비밀정원» and it is time for them to address a greeting to the MIRACLE. The dominant colors in the background are blue and purple, like fairy northern lights. Fans shout the names of their idols, waving their lightstick representing deer antlers.
“Congratulations on ten years! ” screams OH MY GIRL. YOOA quickly returns on the concert yesterday, being over two days, and states that she was overwhelmed and had long cried, hoping that it will not happen again today. The members also express their hard work and effort for today, wishing the fans to spend a pleasant evening at their side, encouraging them to wave their lightstick and sing with them. After this short break, the group continues with «다섯 번째 계절», then «Magic». The images broadcast in the background underline the enchanting character of the concert, plunging the singers sometimes into castles, sometimes into lush gardens. Like flowers, they swirl on stage, smiling and greeting the MIRACLE.
They speak briefly again, to ask if this beginning of concert pleases, and immediately follow with «한 발짝 두 발짝», rocked by the cheers of the fans. OH MY GIRL then leaves the stage, while a long video is broadcast while the group changes. The singers come back dressed in white and red, with angel wings, to play “Cupid”, whose opening is highlighted by dancers wearing golden drums to set the tone, taken from their debut album “OH MY GIRL”.
The group continues with «살짝 설렜어», a popular summer title in Korea, evidenced by the public’s screams when the first notes resonate in the room. The group also expresses it joy at being able to perform old songs, plunging them into a feeling of nostalgia. The girls take time to cool off by drinking water, “toasting” with the audience of their bottles and fans of their lightsitck. HYOJUNG does some aegyos, cute facial expressions, and the heart of MIRACLE is conquered.

«소나기» is then performed, a song that MIMI recommends to anyone wishing to discover the group for the first time. The room is again submerged under blue lights, to be like under the ocean with the singers. The latter continue with «Real love» then it is already time to present one of the two exclusive songs of the concert: «Oh my». Many of the boys are making their voices heard during the concert, saying words such as “I love you!” or “You’re beautiful!”
The group is once again worried about whether the fans enjoy the show, and the cries of the audience are unmistakable. It’s a real relief for the girls, and they remember one of their old teaser where like Barbies they were in boxes, performing certain actions such as playing tennis, catching flies, or just be pretty, the role of YOOA who is regularly compared to a doll. YUBIN and ARIN then leave the stage to prepare for the next title, a duet song: «Sway».
MIMI returns to her birthday, May 1, being happy to be for two months the same age as HYOJUNG, the group leader, and to be informal with her, respect for age is paramount in Korea, whether in traditions or language. As the other four singers leave the stage, a making of video for “Oh my” is presented, then the song “Sway” resonates in the audience, followed by “Love me like you do” by YOOA and HYOJUNG, dressed as brides, hanging in the air on flowery chairs.
The third duo consists of MIMI and SEUNGHEE on «La la la la», much more sensual and mature. The segment dedicated to the «QUEEDOM» program begins, after the broadcast of a VCR. This segment is dedicated to the titles «Destiny», «Twilight» and «Guerilla». These performances are influenced by traditional Korean music and dances, honoring the group’s country, but also the talent in dance and singing of the singers, their power being uneven at this time. They also used scarves and strings to bring a more artistic side to the choreography. Among the journalists, some give away whispers of astonishment.
Their outfits are more feminine too, wearing black faux leather, and asking the audience who is the sexiest of them. YUBIN moved, said she realized during her duet with ARIN that the latter is no longer the «baby» of the group, being the youngest, but grew up to become a woman. The two are now known as “twins” because of their resemblance.

HYOJUNG took the opportunity to speak about her duo, saying that the large princess dress she was wearing prevented her from walking properly, and that she was more comfortable in her hanging chair. The duet for «La la la la» reviews the choreography of the song, its speed and hand movements causing confusion, reproducing in front of the fans requesting some key movements.
But changing mood, an acoustic medley begins, carried by the titles “Windy day“, “I found love“, “Dolphin“, “Tropical love“, “꽃차“, “Etoile“. The lyrics of these songs are even displayed on the screens, to encourage MIRACLE to sing in heart with them. They wear fairy crowns and wands, contrasting with their black clothes. YOOA asks SEUNGHEE if she wants to cry with her at the end of the concert, “Etoile” making them emotional.
They also ask the fans what songs they would like to hear, but when they select “Crystal” members say they don’t remember the lyrics, and encourage the fans to sing back to them. They discuss again, introducing the song they have specially prepared for this concert: «일기예보». SEUNGHEE reveals that when she first heard the song, she cried and is looking forward to presenting it to the fans.
More festive, OH MY GIRL perform the disco version of “Dun dun dance,” followed by “불꽃놀이“, announcing the end of the concert. Although this is the end of the show, the group affirms its desire to continue singing alongside MIRACLE for a long time to come, expressing the strength that their presence gives them. MIMI asks the audience to scream, and the loud cries of support make the girls even more emotional.
The fans do not waste a second to ask for an encore, continuing to express their love for the singers, especially men. “Bungee” finally resonated in the room after fans sang “살짝 설렜어”. Messages from members to MIRACLE are shown on screens, thanking them for supporting the group for a decade. Members go into the audience, sing with it. They follow up with «Perfect day», continuing to shake hands, and take photos with the fans. They also take the opportunity to collect some gifts, mostly slogans. We can feel the fans’ love for the singers.

The public is raising slogans at this time, saying they are the stars of OH MY GIRL. The staff took pictures of the group on stage with the fans, then the light is made on the MIRACLE to check the dress code, thanking those who wore clothes or sparkling accessories.
The girls decide to share their thoughts and emotions about the concerts in Seoul this weekend, saying that there is still a lot to be planned, and that the fans must always be there with them, today and tomorrow. YUBIN, with tears in her eyes, says she did her best to share a brief moment of gaze with each of the fans in order to record this moment in her mind and have no regrets. Ten years was not necessarily something simple to live in every moment, and yet it was worth it for moments like now. At the dawn of her thirties, YUBIN hopes to be someone who will always stay by the side of MIRACLE to accompany and protect them at all times. Thus, she burst into tears.

Even if the concert lasted three hours and a half, time has stopped for MIMI. She regrets that she has not always done well in her career, and hopes that in the future she will not make the same mistakes. She thanked those who came to support them at this concert. “I will never forget this moment, I love you,” she said, hoping to make the MIRACLE cry.
Each girl speaks out to make the fans understand how much they love them and are grateful for all the love and support received over the last ten years. The members are looking at each other, trying to know who will be the next one to cry. Some fans have already cried in the audience, this anniversary is a record full of gratitude for the past, and promises for the future. ARIN expresses her joy at having been able to grow up in this environment, on stage, so well surrounded, and ends up crying too.
At this moment with open heart, sincerity is the key word. 10 years is not a short period, but next to MIRACLE, never long enough. YOOA thanks all those people who made these two days of concert possible also, because without the staff and the agency, they would not be here today. On several occasions, they emphasize the time that passes, more or less slowly, and SEUNGHEE emphasizes the importance of alchemy in the group, because without the other members, she would not have been able to celebrate these ten years either. Many feelings have crossed the room over the hours, and she seems to remember them as she joins the other members who are already crying. The public reassures her, she is cute when she cries.
She was afraid of breaking down before the end of the concert, and crying in the middle, so it’s a relief for her to have held on until now. She hopes to spend the rest of time, the infinite, with the MIRACLE. HYOJUNG remembers the question they were asked in their early days: “What would you like to do in ten years?” , but they did not expect at that time to reach a decade of career. However, she remembers saying that she would hold a special concert to celebrate the anniversary and feels like she has fulfilled a dream tonight.
The singers dry their tears and take up the song again for the last three tracks: “Knock knock”, “Dirty Laundry” and “B612”. This last moment is an opportunity to share some last looks and collect other gifts. The lightsick sparkle in the room, and the fans sing in unison of key moments. Then, with last words, «thank you, I love you», the group leaves the stage for good, promising to see MIRACLE again very soon.
