After years under the name WE:A, the boys are reclaiming their original identity!
It is a publication loaded with symbolism that JUNGKYUN, leader of the group, has just shared. Through a personal letter published in several languages (Korean, Japanese, and English) on official social media, the artist addresses the fans directly to clarify the sudden change of the group’s name and the announcement of their next concert.
In this poignant message, JUNGKYUN looks back on the hardships faced since 2016, between his departure for military service and the dispersion of the members, until their reunion in 2022 with RON, Z-UK, and KICHUN under the name WE:A. But despite this new chapter, the attachment to their very first identity never wavered.
The leader expresses with conviction the common decision of the four members to reclaim their history where it had been suspended:
“BIGFLO is where everything started. Even while moving forward under a new name, we didn’t forget for a single time the home to which we wanted to return. We are not just “coming back”, we are taking back possession of our name to continue writing our story with our own hands.”
JUNGKYUN also takes care to sincerely thank the members (Euijin, Lex, Sungmin) who kept the flame of the name BIGFLO alive during their absence, while sending a message filled with hope to their fandom, WAVE:
“To all of you who might have forgotten us for a time: would you agree to create new memories with us, like ten years ago?”
This return to roots marks the beginning of a promising new era for BIGFLO, determined to pick up the thread of its career alongside its longtime fans.

“Hello, this is JUNGKYUN.
It has been a long time since I last wrote to you from our official account. I hope you are all doing well.
I imagine today’s announcement regarding the sudden change of our group’s name and the concert announcement surprised and confused many of you.
In 2016, starting with my military enlistment, several circumstances piled up and we ended up dispersing. It was a time when we had to give up on the stage, on our name, and on each other. After those painful years, I was able to reunite with RON, Z-UK, and KICHUN in 2022 for the first time in six years, under the name WE:A. But there is one thing we were never able to give up during those four years.
BIGFLO.
That is where we started, and it is the name that carries each of the years we went through. Even when we were doing well under our new name, we didn’t forget for a single time the name of the home to which we wanted to return.
And today, we are finally coming back home, to BIGFLO. Even if “coming back” is perhaps not the most exact word. I think it is more accurate to say that we took back our name. Our story stopped in 2016. From here on, we are going to pick it up and continue writing it with our own hands.
To everyone who loved the name WE:A, thank you from the bottom of my heart. We carry with us every moment spent under that name. And to Euijin, Lex, and Sungmin, who kept the name BIGFLO alive during the years we were absent, thank you.
And to those who had forgotten us for a moment: would you agree to create new memories with us, with the people we were ten years ago?
