HUI: Suspends activities after nasal injury

PENTAGON member HUI is suspending his activities due to a nasal fracture and will not be able to participate in the final performance of the musical “Love in the Rain” (사랑은 비를 타고).

On July 10, production company Borderless Company, in charge of the musical, announced via its official social media accounts and ticketing platforms that there would be a change in cast for HUI’s role.

Borderless Company stated:

“Due to an injury sustained during a shoot, actor HUI, who plays the role of Donghyun, will unfortunately not be able to perform in the July 13 performance at 3:00 PM. The role will instead be played by Jonghyeong.”

They added:

“We sincerely apologize for this sudden change. HUI has expressed his deep regret at not being able to take part in the final show and extends his apologies to the audience members who were eagerly awaiting his performance. We also thank actor Jonghyeong for stepping in.”

Borderless Company further explained:

“Cancellations or reservation changes due to this cast change will be allowed without penalty until 5:00 PM KST on July 11 via the customer service center of the ticketing platforms. ※ Please note: cancellations made directly through the website or app will incur a fee.”

“Love in the rain“ is an original musical that tells the story of Dongwook, a man who postponed marriage until age 40 after raising his younger brothers alone following the death of their parents when he was 24. After seven years, he reunites with his youngest brother Donghyun, and unexpectedly meets Miri, a mysterious woman who mistakenly shows up for a wedding event.

Since the premiere on April 29, HUI had been performing as Donghyun and was scheduled to appear in the final show when the accident occurred.

On July 9, during the filming of the JTBC variety show “The Gentlemen’s League 4“, HUI suffered a nasal bone fracture and was prescribed rest by doctors. On July 10, his agency Cube Entertainment announced that he would temporarily suspend activities to focus on recovery.
