JIHYO celebrates 20 years at JYP with a surprise party.
TWICE member JIHYO held a special party to commemorate her 20th anniversary with JYP Entertainment.
On July 15, a video titled “🎂JIHYO’s 20th Dol Party🎂 | 20 Years with JYP” was uploaded to TWICE’s official YouTube channel.
In the video, JIHYO appears wearing a hanbok (traditional Korean attire) as she kicks off her “20th birthday party.” Among the guests were fellow TWICE members NAYEON and JEONGYEON, BamBam from GOT7, Mingyu and Seungkwan of SEVENTEEN, Sungjin from DAY6, Kim Sejeong (formerly of I.O.I), and Im Nayoung.
After a touching highlight reel was shown, featuring JIHYO’s growth since her trainee days and monthly evaluations, a “life graph” was presented to reflect on her career as an idol. The party also included a special quiz, the reading of heartfelt video messages, and other fun surprises.
Park Jin Young, founder of JYP Entertainment, delivered an emotional video message to JIHYO:
“JIHYO, someone I love and am deeply grateful for… congratulations on your 20th anniversary. Thank you for spending two-thirds of your life with me and this company. I hope we’ll continue to support each other and build a great future together. You know my heart, right?”
To recap, JIHYO debuted with TWICE in 2015 after participating in JYP’s survival show “SIXTEEN.” TWICE will kick off its new world tour with two concerts on July 19 and 20 at Incheon Inspire Arena. The group is also set to headline Lollapalooza Chicago on August 2 at Grant Park in Chicago, Illinois (local time).
