PARK NURI
The successive eliminations of contestants labeled “NO Star” on “Boys 2 Planet” came as a shock.

On July 17, the first episode of Mnet’s survival show “Boys 2 Planet K” aired. In this season, the contestants are divided into two teams: Planet K and Planet C. After intense competition within each team, only those who can prove their worth will make it to “Boys 2 Planet” and continue competing for a debut.
In this episode, viewers witnessed the first meeting of the Planet K contestants. “Boys 2 Planet” operates under a ranking system, ranging from “All-Star,” “Two-Star,” to “One-Star.” Survival in the show depends on this ranking. At the end of each mission, contestants placed in the lowest tier are immediately eliminated.
The first phase was the “ranking decision.” Contestants perform on stage in teams to determine their rank. If the masters judge that a contestant does not deserve any rank, they are immediately eliminated under the status of “No Star.”
In this context, LEE YOON CHAN and PARK NURI, from the label Great M, performed Baekhyun’s “Candy” for their ranking evaluation. However, PARK NURI stood out due to unstable vocals. Vocal master Lim Han Byul commented:
“YOON CHAN sings well live. He has a nice voice, good tone. But NURI, I really wonder if he can become a singer.”
He continued:
“Aren’t you supposed to be in the vocal position? Right?” PARK NURI replied: “I’m in the visual position.”— which created discomfort on set.
Lim Han Byul responded:
“Usually, I’m speechless for good reasons, but this time I was shocked. Still, you’re here to become a singer, aren’t you?”
Lee Seok Hoon added:
“Being here is not something everyone gets. Standing on this stage isn’t easy. Do you agree?”
Baek Gu Young also shook his head, saying:
“I saw too many things I didn’t like.”
Following the judges’ deliberation, LEE YOON CHAN was given a 1-Star rank, while PARK NURI was eliminated as a “No Star.” He attempted an additional vocal test, but his continued instability led to more criticism. In tears, PARK NURI asked:
“Can I say something? I was really nervous on stage, that’s why I didn’t do well. If you could just give me a chance, even as a 1 Star, I’d train harder than anyone else here.”
But Lim Han Byul replied:
“A decision like this can’t be made based on an emotional plea. We have to judge accurately.”
Even though the masters appeared moved, no changes were made: PARK NURI was confirmed as “No Star.” He then left the show with his belongings. He said:
“It was my first time on a stage like that. I was really nervous. My heart was pounding, my hands were shaking. I think I made too many mistakes.”

The “No Star” eliminations continued afterward. Several contestants received the “No Star” status and were immediately eliminated from the survival show.
