BOYS II PLANET - LEE LEO, LEE SANGWON
LEE SANGWON from “Boys 2 Planet” makes a slip of the tongue on stage.

On July 17, the first episode of the survival show “Boys 2 Planet K” aired on Mnet. In this season of “Boys Planet”, the participants are divided into two teams: Planet K and Planet C. After intense competition, only the participants who prove their worth will continue the journey in “Boys 2 Planet” and fight for their debut.
In this episode, the first confrontation for the Planet K contestants’ ranking was shown. “Boys 2 Planet” operates on a ranking system ranging from All-Star to Two-Star and One-Star. At the end of each mission, the lowest-ranked participants are immediately eliminated. During the ranking decision, each contestant is assigned a rank through a group performance, and those deemed unworthy of a rank by the judges are immediately eliminated and labeled “No Star.”
In this context, LEE LEO and LEE SANGWON, both from Grid Entertainment, took the stage for their ranking evaluation. Lee Seok Hoon asked, “You both have long trainee experience. Was it only at this agency?” To which LEE SANGWON replied, “I was previously at BigHit Music.” Hyolyn then asked curiously, “What is Trainee A?” And LEE LEO explained:
“SANGWON and I started together and were part of the rookie group Trainee A under BigHit Music.”
During the preliminary audition, the producers asked, “Then why didn’t you debut?” LEE SANGWON answered:
“There were a number of reasons, but at that time, I left the company and couldn’t debut. Honestly, I didn’t even want to anymore. I was doing part-time jobs at a café, and I was in a period of deep reflection. I wanted to quit everything and leave the industry. I just wanted to rest. That period lasted for a while.”
At that point, LEE LEO spoke up and said to LEE SANGWON, “I’m going to join Boys Planet and I’d really like for us to debut together.” LEE SANGWON responded: “When LEO hyung said that to me, I realized he still wanted to debut with me, that there was some lingering regret over not being able to do it as a team. I think I felt the same way. Once I decided to go for it, I wanted to see it through, like this was my last chance. I found the courage to try again.”
Vocal master Lim Han Byul then said:
“I don’t know if it’s just me, but these two seem really sad and worn out. It seems to come from their many years as trainees. Being a trainee is tough, right? It’s endless waiting. A bird that could soar high, when kept in a cage too long, starts to feel like it can’t fly anymore. It’s a feeling of being trapped, of frustration. I really hope this stage can free you from all of that. Stay strong.”
LEE SANGWON replied: “I was really nervous. As time goes on, I feel more and more like I have to show a better, cooler version of myself.” The two then performed “No doubt” by ENHYPEN. At the end of the performance, an incident occurred: LEE SANGWON’s shoe came off. Startled, he shouted “Ouch!” which surprised everyone.
After the performance, Lee Seok Hoon commented: “This is the first time I’ve heard someone shout ‘Ouch’ during a stage performance.” Embarrassed, LEE SANGWON dropped to his knees. Lee Seok Hoon reassured him: “It’s nothing, I understand.” He added: “Our vocal masters were worried because there was no one to sing the chorus, but then LEO came in. The moment I heard his voice, I thought it was great. SANGWON, you sing very well too. You have excellent vocal talent.”
Dance master Kinki also praised them:
“Many people complimented your vocals, but you both danced well too. It was really impressive. Of course, SANGWON’s mistake disrupted things a bit, but in the end, you both smiled, and I was happy to see that. Keep smiling more and enjoy being on stage.”
Hyolyn added: “There’s no room to go back now. Show us only that you can move forward.”
The test results showed that both LEE LEO and LEE SANGWON were ranked “All-Star.” LEE SANGWON responded:
“I want to do it again. Even that moment, I want to relive it. My shoe came off and I slipped up with my words… I’m someone who swears a lot, but I didn’t mean it that way. I don’t even know why it happened. I was lucky to get through it without major consequences. I’m going to work even harder from now on.”
And he bowed his head in gratitude.
The auditions continue, and the results vary from one performance to another.
