As the controversy surrounding KIM GEON WOO, the “center” of “BOYS 2 PLANET K”, continues to grow, he captured the attention of fellow contestants with his slender appearance.
On the 17th, the premiere episode of Mnet’s survival show “BOYS 2 PLANET K” aired. In this edition of BOYS 2 PLANET, the contestants are divided into two teams: Planet K and Planet C. As the contestants gradually gathered, KIM GEON WOO, who had been chosen as the center for the show’s signal song, made his appearance. However, prior to the first broadcast of “BOYS 2 PLANET K”, a controversy regarding KIM GEON WOO’s character surfaced on online communities, drawing attention. A social media post titled, “The Truth About Kim Geon Woo, the Center of ‘BOYS II PLANET K,’ and His Attitude,” was published.
According to the post, about two years ago, while KIM GEON WOO was a trainee at B Entertainment, he allegedly received favoritism from certain high-ranking staff members and bullied other trainees. This alleged bullying led multiple trainees to leave the company, reportedly paying financial penalties to do so.
The post also included so-called evidence, such as envelopes from B Entertainment, trainee contracts, and conversations between KIM GEON WOO and company officials regarding his participation in “BOYS 2 PLANET”. The author of the post also claimed to be one of the victims of GEON WOO’s bullying and stated that they were currently undergoing psychiatric treatment, sharing medical documents to support their claims.
In response to the growing controversy, the “BOYS 2 PLANET” production team issued a statement:
“The producers take this matter very seriously and are currently verifying the claims made in the posts circulating on social media. We have investigated with individuals mentioned in the post, as well as former officials from B Entertainment, in order to obtain accurate information. At the same time, we are reviewing whether this matter has legal implications.”
However, since the exposé was posted on the day of “BOYS 2 PLANET K’s” premiere, KIM GEON WOO appeared on screen without any changes, drawing even more attention.
