Producer and artist PENOMECO has officially kicked off his musical comeback with the release of the teaser for the music video of “EGGE (Feat. YDG) (애걔),” the title track of his new EP album “RNSSNC TAPE” (Renaissance Tape).
The teaser, released on July 18 via PENOMECO’s official YouTube channel, opens with a mysterious scene of the artist plunging his hand into an unknown liquid.
This brief clip, packed with dynamic visual transitions, captures PENOMECO’s one-of-a-kind energy and instantly grabs the viewer’s attention. In particular, the polished sound layered over a rhythm reminiscent of Latin pop raises anticipation for the full release.
Last December, with the premiere of “Squid Game 2″ on Netflix, PENOMECO’s track “Bolo (Feat. YDG)”, featuring actor Yang Dong Geun (YDG) as participant No. 7, Park Yong Sik, saw a dramatic resurgence on global music charts. The official music video, posted on YouTube, was flooded with comments like “Rest in peace, Player 007” and “His death was one of the saddest moments,” reflecting strong emotional reactions to the character and highlighting YDG’s dual talents as both actor and musician. Many users also commented, “PENOMECO was ahead of his time” and “This track is finally getting the recognition it deserves,” prompting a rediscovery of the song that garnered widespread praise.
The new track “EGGE (Feat. YDG)” is being positioned as a spiritual follow-up to the unexpected phenomenon surrounding “Bolo,” raising anticipation for the fresh synergy expected from this second collaboration between PENOMECO and YDG.
According to his label EGO Group, the new EP “RNSSNC TAPE” is a multi-dimensional album spanning a wide range of genres, from high-energy hip-hop and emotionally nuanced R&B/Soul, to refreshing electronic sounds. Among the tracks, “EGGE (Feat. YDG)” stands out with its uniquely titled name: “애걔” is a Korean onomatopoeia expressing contempt or dismissal toward something trivial, humorously rendered as “EGGE” in English. Set to a Latin pop rhythm, the song delivers a satirical message with wit and lightness.
Recently, PENOMECO has seen significant international success, expanding his reach as a global artist. His EP “ORGANIC2″, released last August, charted on iTunes in the U.S., Switzerland, Hong Kong, and more. In April, the pre-release track “ㅋㅋ” from his new EP also entered the iTunes charts in Austria, the Netherlands, and the UK, confirming his growing global popularity.
