LEE MIN WOO, member of the group SHINHWA, has announced his marriage.
On July 26, LEE MIN WOO posted a handwritten letter on social media, stating: “After a long period of getting to know each other, we confirmed our mutual feelings and decided to become a family. I hope you will warmly bless us.”
He added: “Recently, as I went through several difficult situations and felt mentally exhausted, I spent a lot of time with my family, which made me reflect again on the meaning of family. I’ve always had this vague desire to create a home someday where we could support each other.”
Then he promised: “In the future, my life will undergo other changes, but relying on the love of Shinhwa Changjo (the fandom) and my family, I will continue my activities, whether on stage or elsewhere, without change, as LEE MIN WOO. I will always come to meet Shinhwa Changjo.”
LEE MIN WOO debuted in June 1998 as part of the six-member group SHINHWA, which achieved success with hits like “Hey, come on,” “Perfect man,” and “Brand new.” Since 2003, he has also pursued a solo career and made his debut as a painter, holding his first solo exhibition titled “PURISM” last month.
The group SHINHWA continues its activities, notably with the release of an album in 2018 celebrating its 20th anniversary. Following the marriages of members ERIC, JUN JIN, and ANDY, LEE MIN WOO is the fourth member to get married.

“Hello! My Mandarines~
This summer has been especially unpredictable and capricious. How is everyone doing? I hope you’re all healthy.
As for me, I safely finished my first exhibition, and now I finally feel a bit of peace of mind. That’s why today, I took up the pen to share the most important news first with Shinhwa Changjo.
Recently, going through several difficult situations that exhausted me mentally, I spent a lot of time with my family, which made me rethink the very meaning of family. I’ve had this vague wish for a long time: ‘One day, I want to build a home where we support each other.’ Then, with a precious person I’ve known for a long time, we confirmed we share the same feelings and decided to become a family.
I know this news will surprise you a lot, dear Shinhwa Changjo… I thought a lot about how to tell you, and it wasn’t easy to take up the pen. But thinking of you, who would be disappointed and sad if you heard the news somewhere else before me, I wanted to tell you first, even if awkwardly.
Because you are the ones I love the most, Shinhwa Changjo, I want to receive your congratulations, and I hope you will warmly and kindly welcome this story I share with you.
From my debut with Shinhwa, through my passionate teens, twenties, and thirties, until today…
I have been lucky to receive overflowing love and support from Shinhwa Changjo for a long time. Even when I was clumsy and lacking, it was thanks to your warm love and support that I found the courage to take another step forward. There were hard times, but I was never anything but happy during all this time living as Lee Min Woo on stage.
In the future, my life will still undergo changes, but I promise you, relying on the love of Shinhwa Changjo and my family, I will continue to meet you as Lee Min Woo, whether on stage or elsewhere, without ever changing.
