ILLIT
The group ILLIT has officially wrapped up six weeks of promotions for its third mini-album, “BOMB.”

■ A Strong identity that sets trends and showsg growth on stage
Since its debut, ILLIT has focused on telling stories centered around the self. With this new album, the group expands its narrative by exploring relationships with others, all while amplifying its signature bold and honest charm. Their addictive beats, original lyrics, and impactful point choreography, now trademarks of the group, further define the unique “ILLIT identity,” making for an even more enjoyable listening experience. Their “magical girl” concept, in particular, has struck a chord with Gen Z and younger Millennials, becoming a rising trend. The message “Anyone can become a magical girl once they discover their true potential” has resonated widely across audiences.
ILLIT’s artistic growth has also become more apparent. With the dreamy title track “Do the dance” and the hip follow-up track “jellyous,” the group showcased an expanded musical spectrum. Their polished performances and consistently strong live vocals sparked conversation and earned them the nickname, “a group you can trust to deliver live.” They stayed true to the promise they made at their comeback showcase:
“We practiced so hard that our throats tasted like blood, just to show how much we’ve grown.”
■ Breaking records and climbing charts domestically and internationally
ILLIT’s impact was also reflected in its numbers. “BOMB” sold over 400,000 copies in its first week, topping the weekly album charts on both Hanteo Chart and Circle Chart. In Japan, the album surpassed the first-week sales of their previous release on day one, landing top positions on local charts like Oricon and Billboard Japan. They also made it onto the Billboard 200, the main U.S. album chart, a feat they’ve achieved with every release since debut.
The title track “Do the dance”, which earned two music show wins, continues to gain momentum even a month after its release. It debuted at No. 82 on the Melon Daily Chart (as of June 16), and climbed to No. 28 by July 24. On the Melon Weekly Chart, it rose from No. 87 (3rd week of June) to No. 31 (3rd week of July), proving the group’s staying power and continued popularity.
■ Japanese debut, fan concerts, and major festivals: ILLIT steps up global expansion
Riding the wave of their recent success, ILLIT is preparing to officially debut in Japan. On September 1, the group will release their first Japanese single, “Toki Yo Tomare” (original title: 時よ止まれ). Having already received a rookie award at a prestigious Japanese awards show, ILLIT is drawing strong interest from global fans.
They’ll also hold their first solo fan concerts in Japan, on August 10–11 at Pia Arena MM in Yokohama (Kanagawa Prefecture), and September 3–4 at Osaka-jō Hall in Osaka. On September 14, the group will take the stage at the Rock in Japan Festival 2025, one of Japan’s largest music festivals. With global promotions ramping up, the second half of 2025 is shaping up to be a milestone period for ILLIT.
