JUNGKOOK’s (BTS) solo track “Standing next to you” continues to show remarkable staying power in both the UK and the US.

According to the latest official UK charts (August 8–14), “Standing next to you,” released in 2023, re-entered the Official Physical Singles Chart at No. 75. This marks its 33rd week on that chart, proving its ongoing popularity there. The song had previously peaked at No. 2 on the same chart.
Additionally, on the UK’s main Official Singles Chart Top 100, the song debuted at No. 6 and remained on the chart for 11 weeks. It also reached No. 1 on the Official Singles Downloads Chart and No. 2 on the Official Singles Sales Chart, setting JUNGKOOK’s personal best rankings. Over 200,000 copies have been sold in the UK alone, earning the track a Silver certification from the BPI (British Phonographic Industry) and making it the fifth K-pop solo artist song to receive Silver status, a record.
In the US, “Standing next to you” debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed for 19 weeks. It also topped the Global 200 and Global (ex-US) charts, holding those spots for 47 and 55 weeks respectively. On Spotify, the song has surpassed 1.26 billion cumulative streams.
This year, “Standing next to you” won the “Most Performed Songs of the Year” award at the BMI Pop Awards. The remix version featuring Usher was voted No. 1 in the “Top 5 Best K-pop Collaborations of 2024” by American media outlet The Honey Pop.
The song also made the “15 K-pop Songs That Defined 2023” list by the Grammy Awards, praised as a “timeless hit that will dominate years to come,” and was included in the Los Angeles Times’ “100 Best Songs of 2023” list.
