The new BigHit Music group, CORTIS, has unveiled a music video packed with original ideas.

At midnight on August 20, CORTIS (Martin, James, Juhoon, Seonghyeon, Keonho) released the music video for their title track “What you want” on HYBE Labels’ YouTube channel, from its debut album “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES”. Unlike the conceptual performance film released on August 18, this video focuses on storytelling.
In the video, the members constantly cross the line between dreams and reality. At the beginning, they find themselves stuck in a scorching desert after a car breakdown. The scene then shifts to a restaurant where they doze off, hinting that the previous scene was just a dream. Just when it seems they have returned to reality, ingredients fly around the restaurant and a gas station shoots out juice instead of fuel. With each change of location, desert, restaurant, subway, gas station, it seems as though they wake up, but upon closer inspection, it’s yet another dream. These surreal events in everyday spaces create unpredictable enjoyment. Exaggerated angles, rhythmic editing, and the members’ dramatic reactions give the video the feel of a dark comedy.
All five members are credited as co-directors of the music video. Their unique framing and clever scenario design highlight the fresh creativity of this generation of young artists. The video also interprets the song’s message, “to confidently go after what you truly want”, by playing on the double meaning of the word dream, which becomes a key theme of the video. In this way, CORTIS showcases their talents as a “young creator crew,” contributing not only to the music and choreography but also to the creation of the video.
CORTIS officially debuted on August 18 at 6 PM KST with the digital release of “What you want”. By August 20 at 6 AM KST, the song had already entered the iTunes Top Songs charts in 15 countries and regions, including Thailand, Indonesia, and the Netherlands, signaling the start of their international success. The five members will begin their television promotions on August 21 on Mnet M Countdown. After leaving an impression with their innovative treadmill performances, they will officially release their debut album “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES” on September 8.
