BIGBANG: GD as MC, a reunion ahead of their 20th anniversary

A special BIGBANG reunion for its 19th anniversary, offering a promising glimpse of what’s to come in 2025.

Singer G-DRAGON reignited excitement around BIGBANG by reuniting the group’s three members to celebrate their 19th anniversary through the YouTube show “집대성”, hosted by DAESUNG.

DAESUNG’s YouTube channel released the content in two parts (a preview on August 19 and the main episode on August 22), titled “BIGBANG’s 19th Anniversary Home Party.” Nine months after their first group appearance on the show, now with over 15.8 million views, the new reunion has already surpassed 2.3 million views in just two days, proving the group’s enduring popularity.

In the video, G-DRAGON, TAEYANG, and DAESUNG reunite, delighting fans. Special guests like CL, SEVENTEEN’s Hoshi, actor Go Kyung Pyo, Son Naeun, singer Vince, and dancers Duggy and Donnie joined the celebration, adding energy and emotion to the moment.

For the first time in his career, G-DRAGON stepped into the role of host (MC Jiyong). Though visibly nervous, he led the show with his signature humor, saying, “Let me call in my brothers, my inspirations, my inspirational weirdos~” before introducing each member with playful charisma.

G-DRAGON also stood out for his natural charm and leadership. He boosted TAEYANG with enthusiastic reactions, smiled proudly at DAESUNG’s MC skills, and couldn’t hide his joy after receiving a compliment from him:

“You did a great job today, seriously.”

To which GD happily replied, “Of course I did~”, drawing laughter from everyone.

Later, the members entered a memory-filled room prepared by the production team. Together, they looked back on old photos and albums from their debut days, including images from their first solo concert in 2006, autograph sessions, and a recent group photo taken at TAEYANG’s concert. They even recreated some of the old photos, giving fans a touching moment full of nostalgia.

But most notably, G-DRAGON looked ahead to the future, BIGBANG’s 20th anniversary in 2025. He shared:

“The problem is, there’s just so much to imagine for our 20th. But once you start drawing, it turns into a painting.”

DAESUNG added that they’re already preparing for the milestone, sparking even more anticipation.
