The group ILLIT will perform the opening theme for the second season of the Japanese anime series “’Tis Time for Torture, Princess,” which is set to premiere next January, according to its agency Belift Lab.
“We are honored to perform the opening for such a beloved anime in Japan. We look forward to seeing the synergy our song will bring. We hope everyone will enjoy not only the animation, but also ILLIT,” the group said in a press statement.
The comedy anime, adapted from the original manga, follows a princess held hostage and “tortured” with delicious food and entertaining scenarios. The title of the opening song has not yet been announced.
ILLIT made their debut in Japan in September with “Toki yo Tomare,” which was selected as the soundtrack for a modeling audition program. Another track, “Topping,” was featured in a video advertisement for Lacoste Japan.
The group will release its first single, “NOT CUTE ANYMORE,” on November 24, and the five members will meet fans during their “Glitter Day” performances scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
