OMEGA X - HWICHAN
HWICHAN, a member of the group OMEGA X, has been cleared of sexual assault allegations.
On December 17, agency IPQ stated:
“Regarding the allegations that HWICHAN sexually assaulted ‘A,’ the former director of his previous agency, the prosecution determined that there was a lack of objective and credible evidence to establish the facts, and issued a decision of non-indictment on the 11th.”
The case dates back to March of last year. OMEGA X’s former agency, SPIRE ENTERTAINMENT, held a press conference and filed a criminal complaint against HWICHAN for sexual assault. At the time, SPIRE ENTERTAINMENT presented CCTV footage recorded on July 11, 2022, as evidence. In response, HWICHAN stated that the publicly released footage consisted only of partially edited excerpts and requested that the full original video be submitted, a request that was refused.
IPQ, his current agency, said: “Due to unfounded accusations maintained over a long period of time, HWICHAN suffered severe social stigma and significant psychological distress, and these damages extended to the former members of OMEGA X as well as their families.”
The agency added: “We clearly state that HWICHAN did not commit any criminal act,” while also expressing the hope that “distorted allegations and malicious accusations will not be repeated.”
